...Museum of Science+Industry Chicago In the museum of Science+Industry Chicago, scientist are looking for alternative solutions in how to produce the sufficient energy that people need in Chicago while keeping in mind the balance of the cost and the impact on the environment. For instance, in the Energy Garden people can transform energy from one form to another just by riding a bike. The generator works to transform the kinetic energy that people provide by riding the bikes there to a different form of energy that scientist can use and take advantage of. Also, at the museum scientists use the Hand-Crank. The Hand-Crank is a generator that used to power a dazzling array of visual effects. People there can see their own energy by looking at different types of light bulbs while riding the bikes that are provided there. Challenges that the scientists are facing in energy demand are so many. The increasing population is of the main challenges. For example, in the last forty years the population has increased three times over to reach seven billions people averaging over a two hundred thousand new energy consumer increasing every day. Scientists are expecting the population to increase two billions more by the next forty years. One more challenge that people are facing is heating up the planet and changing the climate because of the ways that people are using and consuming energy. Those are some of the reasons that make people think of how to change the way they consume energy and...
