Cell phones, they’re an item that almost everyone has in our world today. There are the types of people who are attached to their cellphone, meaning they can’t go anywhere without it, are constantly on it, and when they aren’t using it, it’s in the front pocket of their pants or sweatshirt. Or, there are also the types of people who can never find their cell phone because they hardly go on it at all. So, what if you’re the type of person who is constantly on their cell phone? Well, you’re obviously being involved with more radiation than someone who hardly uses their cell phone or someone who doesn’t even own a cell phone. Well, studies have been done involving cell phones and the radiation that they emit, and all the studies have something in common. The studies have found that it is hard to prove the effects of radiation on your health. Don’t let this disappoint you though, there is a reason behind it. The reason why it is hard to study is that everyone is different, which means everyone uses their cell phone in different ways and for different things. Some people hold their cell phone to the left side of their head, and some people hold it on the right side of their head. Some people keep their phone in the pocket of their pants, right next to their skin, and some people don’t carry their cell phone with them. Scientist Kellyn Betts, who has written many scholarly journal articles on radiation, states in her journal article, “Experts agree more research is needed to investigate whether cell phone use can cause brain cancers, especially in children a group of scientists, physicians, and public health specialists around the world are urging that simple precautionary measures be taken just in case” (A486). As cell phones continue to change over time, I think there will be
