I agree with Dr. Galician that relationships are portrayed in the media unrealistic and harmful in our real lives. This is because the couples really believe that the love story videos are shown as true love really happening in those videos. Couples get impacted by those videos a lot. Specially, those couples who are missing love in their marriage lives. Watching those unrelenting videos on media, can create a rift in couple lives. It is because they expect the similar kinds of unrealistic love too, which is shown on Media. In literature, there are many love stories on love. For example, Romeo and Juliet, Paris and Helena, and Paolo and Francesca. From all these stories, the most common example of love was well known l described in Literature was Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet were the most famous lovers ever. Those couples became a synonym for love itself. In literature, that true love story was written by William Shakespeare. It’s a story of two teenagers from two fighting families who fall in love with each other at first sight and then get married. Both couples, chose to take their lives away for true love. To take your own life for your husband or wife is definitely a sign of true love. Their "untimely deaths" ultimately bond their fighting households. Media has played a big role in making people believe that whatever has come on TV is true. People believe that uretic and fake love which media shows happens in real life as well. The one of the biggest example on love Media has shown us the Movie called Titanic. In that movie, people fell in love with each other during an unhappy voyage. It was unhappy because the boat titanic was about to sink. Some people believe that love can happen during an unhappy voyage as well. This sort of thinking can create complications in couple lives.

Causing Confusion Through Email

...used commonly, it isn’t always used well (Ronald B. Adler and Jeanne M. Elmhorst – 27). I can definitely agree with that. It is not just that it is not used well; sometimes the email is just not re-read for clarification before sending it. This can tend to cause confusion for the recipients of your email. I will give you an example of an email that I sent out that I should have written differently so that everyone receiving the email would have understood it. I recently was promoted to an Area Manager position within Wawa. I had eight stores that I was overseeing during my temporary position. These eight stores were used to our meeting process which included one of my General Managers named Ramona organizing breakfast for us. This process always worked well and everyone knew they could call Ramona if they wanted to bring something special or just to help out. This brings us up to my first meeting coming up in January. Due to my promotion, I lost three of my original stores and picked up an additional eight stores. I needed to send out an email to inform everyone of our meeting date, time and other things that they were required to bring. My intentions were to send out a brief email. The additional eight General Managers that were added to the team do not know me and I did not want to really start out our working relationship with a lengthy e-mail. My intention was simply to give them the information they really needed and all other communication would be done...

Is Fifty the New “over-the-Hill” for Marketing Professionals?

...Author’s note: After a couple of months of seeking re-entry into the workforce, I determined that those employers looking to fill traditional marketing, advertising and media sales positions seem disinterested in a “seasoned” professional. Are you someone who has faced a similar experience? Perhaps you are a hiring manager who disregards qualified but older candidates when sifting through resumes. If you fall into either of these categories, then this article is for you. If you are an individual of a certain age, then the names Don Henley, Sting, David Lee Roth and Stevie Nicks will mean more to your than just “outstanding solo recording artist”. You will know that at one time, these stars were part of some incredible bands. You will also know that these superstars, despite experiencing massive successes with solo careers, have all opted to regroup, so to speak, hooking up with former band-mates to recreate music magic that is as worthy and sellable today as it was back in its heyday. Yes, EDM, hip-hop, rap and auto-tuned pop dominate the airwaves and I-Tunes playlists, and these genres generate massive record sales and concert and radio advertising revenues. But thanks to video games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero, plus a generation of parents who drove their kids to school and selected the in-car musical entertainment, boomer-parented children not only recognize names like Boston, Steely Dan, Foreigner and Deep Purple, they know the lyrics and the melodies and will gladly attend...

...ld students be allowed to grade their teachers? Teachers and students both are the main part of the school. School doesn’t work the either ways. Teachers make us study and improve, while we implement it. Teachers grade us on our basic skills as well as the way we study and improve. But what if the teacher is not capable enough to do so? We should get a chance to grade them too. Almost all schools doesn’t encourage this kind of grading, or maybe none does. According to me this type of grading should be taken into account. Teachers should be graded on their teaching skill, behaviour in class and the interaction level with the students. What if the teacher is very strict and over rules the children or a single child? The child has to remain quiet and keep on facing it, as he doesn’t have any right to oppose him or make him realise, that what he/she is doing is wrong. The grading of the teachers would help the school to understand the children’s problem. If the teacher is not making the students study up to the mark, they have no options other than implementing by self. This kind of problems arise in all the schools but no schools try to solve it or make a better way. If all the schools would help the students this way, the students would love learning as well as will like to interact with the teachers. All the grades given to the teachers should be taken into account and should be checked by the higher authorities. If this happen then all schools would have students who would...

Life After Prison

...applied for 90 positions before getting a five-week temporary assignment Do you know someone that has been in jail or prison for a long time? Do they have a plan when they get released? Do they have a job waiting on them? Do they have a place to live? Find a place to live, a job to support themselves and their families is one of the biggest things that an ex-offender will have to face when they are released. This is the problem that most inmates have to think about upon release. Some may not have someone in the family that they can turn to. There are those that don’t have a safe place to go to, so they have to worry about can I go there and not get back into the same trouble that got me put into jail in the first place. Ex-offenders should have more opportunities to have jobs, housings, and to more places to get habilitation service if needed. Finding work is hard work in the reentry process for many reason. There are many places that programs that are made to help them to come back into society and also help with finding jobs. But some of these work programs do not make finding a job easy. So the problem is that some overcrowded prisons currently house more than 25,000 inmates or more. The majority of the inmates that’s about 97% will one day be released. They will be starting to return to the communities and cities they used to live in. After getting out, former inmates will face staggering challenges. People that doesn’t deal with this may not know that ex-offends have to deal...

Behind the Smiles

...A Place In This World don`t know what I want, so don`t ask me Cause I`m still trying to figure it out Don`t know what`s down this road, I`m just walking Trying to see through the rain coming down Even though I`m not the only one Who feels the way I do [Chorus:] I`m alone, on my own, and that`s all I know I`ll be strong, I`ll be wrong, oh but life goes on I`m just a girl, trying to find a place in This world Got the radio on, my old blue jeans And I`m wearing my heart on my sleeve Feeling lucky today, got the sunshine Could you tell me what more do I need And tomorrow`s just a mystery, oh yeah But that`s ok [Repeat Chorus] Maybe I`m just a girl on a mission But I`m ready to fly [Repeat Chorus] Back To December I'm so glad you made time to see me How's life? Tell me, how's your family? I haven't seen them in a while You've been good, busier than ever We small talk, work and the weather Your guard is up, and I know why Because the last time you saw me Is still burned in the back of your mind You gave me roses, and I left them there to die So this is me swallowing my pride Standing in front of you, saying I'm sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time It turns out freedom ain't nothing but missing you Wishing I'd realized what I had when you were mine I go back to December, turn around and make it alright I go back to December all the time These days, I haven't been sleeping Staying up, playing back...

To What Extent Do the Courts Accept That Circumstances of Necessity Can Provide a Defence to a Criminal Charge?

...Necessity is a civil defence while duress and duress of circumstances are criminal defences. Therefore in order to fully answer this question we must explore the defences of duress, duress of circumstances for criminal law and the defence of necessity for civil law and determine to what extent they provide a defence. In the case of Valderrama-Vega (1985) the D smuggled cocaine due to threats on his life and threats to disclose his homosexuality. The Court of Appeal quashed his conviction because the Jury did not look at the cumulative effects of all the threats that were made to him. A two stage test was introduced in the case of Graham (1982) when the D helped kill his wife because he was threatened by his homosexual lover. Was the D compelled to act as he did because he reasonably believed he had a good cause to fear serious injury or death? If so, would a sober person of reasonable firmness, sharing the characteristics of the accused have responded in the same way? As we can see by these two cases, the Courts are prepared to accept the defence when the D life is being threatened. In the case of Matrin (DP) (2000) the D suffered from a schizoid-affective state which would make him see things as threatening and believe the threats would be carried out, therefore the Court held that the correct test should have been whether, in view of the D condition, he may have reasonably feared for his own or mothers safety. So now we can see that the Court includes danger to oneself and...

% Five Things You Didn't Know About Working in a Restaurant

...5 Things You Didn’t Know About Working In A Restaurant We have all dined in a restaurant in some point in time. Whether it be McDonald’s, Burger King, or Wendy’s. Hell, some of us might have had the balls to go to Hell’s Kitchen! But here’s a few facts that I’ve been through that might make you reconsider restaurants… Five things you might not know about restaurants… 1. Managing a Restaurant takes up all of your time When you decide to manage a restaurant, it’s worse than having a newborn child. You see, just like a child, it eats, breathes, shits, and cause havoc in your life. And just like a newborn child, it requires your constant attention. And like said new life in this world, you are ultimately responsible. It’s your day off? Fuck you! Somebody failed to show up for an important shift. You have a catering order to go out? You have to be there for it. You watch and plan everyday for as long as you’re in charge. Corporate makes you hire a new manager? Now you’re fucked. Not only are you responsible for making sure that they learn all the systems and procedures, you HAVE to let them fail so they can learn, only to clean up their mess. And as a training manager, you have the added cost of their labor on your books. Thank you powers that be! Let me hold some idiots’ hand and walk them through how to be a retard on my dime. Don’t get me wrong, we all need to learn and grow, but corporate doesn’t have to babysit. Speaking of babysitting… 2. The staff can be your worst...

Graphic Depression

...Karen Farley Saturday, March 3, 2012 Graphic Depressions Most all people do not know what an impact Art has on the world, the Artists that helps shape the public’s perceptions of the world today. We are going to visit the Artists and their Art and try and determine the themes they were trying to portray and the effect it might have on the World Today. According to (Karen Farley 2012) “these pictures helped shape the public’s perception of The Great Depression.” http://www.english.illinois.edu/maps/depression/artgallery.htm we are going to see the depression, anger, deceit, and hate enthralled during The Great Depression. Now let us see that we as a people will endure in this vast economic turmoil of today, March 3rd, 2012, through the eyes of the people in October of 1929 to 1942. The first picture in the prior link is by one Robert Minor Copyrighted in 1916 this is actually before the Great Depression but depicts the coming of it, by illustrating the Army or Police in that time killing maybe some of the unemployed during riots leading up to the Great Depression. We all know that the Great Depression started way before the actual date. We are going to now skip to six years later to the 1922 picture by Robert Minor, Morgan, Mellon, and Rockefeller. I think this may be depicting the mad businessmen and the ever-growing fact that the Rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer. These people in the picture may even be the people mentioned in the title, consequently...

Personal Essay: Beyond The Bridges Ministry

...I am Wiley Hayes, and I serve a double role with Beyond the Bridges Ministry. I work as the program’s administrative assistant, managing day-to-day office and program responsibilities. I also mentor new participants, encouraging them to face the challenges of re-entry and providing advice and support as they solve practical problems, such as housing and job search. It is gratifying for me to serve in this way, because the assistance BTB offers can make the difference between ex-offenders getting their lives back on track to re-enter the community or slipping back into old behaviors that return them to prison. I have a special reason for knowing this. I have spent a total of 20 years of my life behind bars. My last conviction sent me to prison for 15 years. I know personally what it is like to come out of prison to face re-entry into the community without housing, without a job, and without a supportive group of caring people to encourage and advise me. Release from prison can present challenges so overwhelming that they lead the unprepared ex-offender back to prison. The key that helped me to survive this demanding time I never would have suspected earlier in my...

...move would be to buy a Station 1 machine. We decided that we would look at the lead time and then decide which one of the three contracts we should opt for. We also discussed the safety stock level that should be kept and the amount of quantity to be ordered (i.e. reorder quantity). Since the lead time of supplier was 4 days we decided that based on the average number of jobs we would keep the safety stock value. The Strategy and the Steps Carried out: Step 1: On Day 61 we bought the machine of Station 1 with $90,000. We saw that we were getting a lead time of about 2.3 days hence we chose Contract 1, in which we would receive $750 for completing the orders in minimum 7 days and maximum 14 days. We also saw that we were getting an average of 15 jobs per day i.e. we had to supply (15 X 60 =) 900 quantities per days. Hence team came to a conclusion that the re-order point be kept (900X4=) 3600. We had 7620 amount of inventory so we kept the re-order quantity at 3000 so that the inventory level comes down. After taking this step, we saw that the lead time had come down...

I don?t know how long later, but I was sitting up, with the help of loads of pillows, the tube gone from my throat and my throat still hurting. The doctors looked at me with some next looks. I wondered why they were looking at me like that. ?Can I see?? I tried to say but the words wouldn?t come out. ?You?ll find it hard to talk for a bit, take this? the nurse said and handed me a note book and pen. I scribbled furiously asking for water and Cubbz. The nurse took the sheet nodded and left. I don?t know how long but doctors and nurses kept going in and out, promising to make me see him as soon as they?d finished all their tests to check my brain and what not. What I really wanted to know was why my belly felt weird. Like something was growing in it. It felt so awkward. I knew I wasn?t pregnant because I couldn?t be? so what the hell? Maybe they?d put metal in my belly. The more I thought about it the more things made sense.  Maybe I damaged some organs and they had to be replaced. I nodded because it made sense.
