“Navigation My Eerie Landscape Alone” is the title of a brief article by Jim Bobryk which is about behavior people from outside who are so afraid of doing the wrong things that they prefer to do nothing at all.

The Author tells us that a few years ago all his life was completely changed. He had battled glaucoma for 20 years, but one day after lunch he recognized that his eyes had hemorrhaged. Jim Bobryk describes how different vision in his eyes helped him as "a navigator in this eerie landscape". Except his feelings, the Author writes about reaction of people of different ages from the street when they seen the human as wielding his stick. Also, the article is about how the Author builds relationship with his friends in new situations.
The article "Navigation My Eerie Landscape Alone" involves an important topic because strangers do not really know how to keep balance of not to offend blind people. From my experience, I had the same questions: “Will my friendliness be misconstrued by the disabled as pity? Will an offer of help sound patronizing?” If I do not know the human personal, I will never know his reaction and I will prefer to “do nothing rather than take the risk of offending the blind.” Of course, if I will see that such people need help or if they are in a dangerous situation, I will not wait one second to help them. The problem is some of these people do not want to feel that they are different and they often become upset very quickly. Strangers often try to be tactful and do not want to hurt the feelings of a blind person. When I think about my reaction in the same situation, I have feelings that probably I will want to do many things myself without any help. I think it takes a long time to recognize that people want to help others not because a blind person is different but because they want to be nice and helpful. What is more important in this story was the positive attitude and self-confidence of the Author. Not all people in a hard situation could be so optimistic and continue to love people.
This is one of the best ways in this situation how to find understanding and the right balance among people. Each of us has our own vision of the world and these visions are often are very different. We are suppose to recognize that people can have different reaction in one situation but it is our human nature. However, people do not suppose to be afraid to be helpful and delicate toward each other. All of us have thoughts and feelings that sometimes people like help but sometimes some people like to do everything for themselves. In any situations people can “find more satisfaction in their lives if they do not travel in a straight line.”
