Reaction towards the talk of Architect Corazon Tandoc

Someone said that inspiring words come from people who have experienced many things. I for one believe that is true. And at today’s seminar, I’ve learned many encouraging things from an induvidual such as Architect Corazon Tandoc.

When Architect Tandoc first spoke, she told us five things to remember to be able to be a successful. First is to believe in yourself. She told us that if we didn’t start believing on ourselves, who else would? Our parents would not be here forever, and we need to make it on our own. By believing in ourselves, we could achieve more, do more and experience more than anyone con do in our lives. Sucess starts at believing. Second is to always seek for knowledge. She said that when we graduate, learning doesn’t stop. By seeking knowledge, we learn new things and might also be come up with new and bright ideas in the field as we go along the way. Learning will also open up the road to knowing our clients and be able toknow what steps to take in handling problems in the field of Architecture. The third tip that she told us to remember is travel whenever we can. Whether it was domestic or abroad, getting a chance to travel is an amazing feat that we can do and will let us see the wonders of architecture in or out of the Philippines. As someone who can travel I also think that to be able to travel to many place will help me gain knowledge of how has the history of Architecture grown throughout the years. Also another tip from Architect Tandoc was to stay healthy. Being cooped up at home will only make unhealthy and feel worse than people who go outside. Exercise and eating the right food will help us maintain our health. And lastly, she said that after all that we’ve done, we must give back all the glory to God because all that we’ve recieve today was from Him.

All in all, I’m glad that I attended this seminar. It help me realized what must I do in order to become successful in the field of Architecture. It also made me realize that I must find my own uniqueness in order to bring out best of my works. I also look forward in whatever may come my way in the upcoming years of my life and the challenges my student life may bring.
