Authority Chapter Summary The authority chapter was broken up into seven different part. The intro which was on the Milgram study and how it introduced the idea of obedience to authority. Then there is “Connotation, Not Content” which touches on how television plays off of societies false ideas of correlation. Following that there is “Titles” that is pretty self-evident about the content. After that is “Clothing” this section is also pretty self-explanatory along with “Trapping”. Then there is the “How to Say No” section which explains how the process of saying no is not as easy at one may think. Then lastly is there is the “Readers Repot: From a Young Businessman” this just being a real life situation that draws from each section and portrays them in a reel life situation.…show more content… Milgram says that his results are this way because “conforming to the dictates of authority figures always had genuine practical advantages for us”. This being people parents or teachers who provided them with knowledge and who also controlled their rewards and punishments. To them as adults where employers, judges and government leaders control their fate. S. Brian Willson’s protest on the train tracks that lead to him to having both legs served off by the train never did he blame the conductors of the train nor did he blame the army medical team for leaving him there on the ground bleeding out.
