...Neighbourhood Description I live in 205 E 33rd street, right on the corner of 3rd avenue and 33rd street. My neighbourhood is called Murray Hill and It's been universally branded as a Manhattan's frattiest neighbourhood, a place where the newly graduated go out. The reason why I live in Murray Hill is not because I love the neighbourhood, it is because of convenience. My apartment is only 8 blocks away from Baruch and real estate in Murray Hill is more reasonably priced than anywhere else on the island. Murray Hill is all about brownstones on 3rd and Lexington Avenue and co-ops in apartment buildings closer to the river and the 40s. There are quite a few restaurants with diversify cousins in my neighbourhood. Besides bars and restaurants there are other business just like any other residential neighbourhood like barbershops, gyms, laundry rooms, movie theatre, grocery shops and fast food chains. However when it comes to shopping there is not much to be found, you are better off taking a ten-minute walk to Herald Square. Public transportation that cut through Murray Hill are subway lines 4, 5, or 6 and Grand Central is only ten blocks, so even going cross-town is not too difficult. Finally, perhaps Murray Hill will never be as nice as West Village, but need it? Bars and restaurants are not great and you don’t get those small and narrow streets with a lot of history as you do in West Village.
