Animal Testing
Animal testing laboratories should be stopped. Foremost, it is incredibly painful for the animals being tested on. These animals live their entire lives being abused in many ways, such as being sprayed on, poked with needles, and force fed. They are put into a range of experiments that are uncomfortable, agonizing, or deadly with no way of defending themselves. They spend every day feeling a great deal of pain, loneliness, and fear. Another reason animal testing should be stopped is because it is pointless. Animals are not the same of humans. Testing products on animals is not going to help figure out if it will be okay for humans to use. Scientists have already developed alternative methods of testing products that do not involve

Arguments Against Animal Testing

...A very touchy subject on whether or not animals should be tested on. More than 100 million animals are killed from testing in the U.S alone.  That’s about 273.973  animals a day that die from getting tested for biological, medical, and cosmetic reasons. But why is this a thing, perhaps humans wouldn’t want anything bad happening to them and only to an innocent animal.  Just think of your animals at home, they are scared  going to the vet, let alone in a cage their whole life and getting nothing but tests. There are many reasons as to why this vicious act should be stopped immediately.      You’re  hurting an animal. That should be enough reasoning to stop. What gives you the right to test on confused scared animals. Some people believe...

Why Is Animal Testing Wrong

...happen, why do humans keep insisting on doing animal testing? Everybody can come together to stop animal testing because it goes against the animal's rights, it is cruel and wasteful. Animal testing is not fair because it goes against the animal's rights and after all we live in a world where equality is valued. No animal wants to be subjected to this kind of treatment. Since animals do not have a voice, humans need to speak for them and protect them. They were not put on this Earth so they could be mistreated. Animals and humans are alike in many ways; they both feel, think, and experience pain. Thus, animals should be treated with the same respect as humans. Animals are more than just scientific tools. Next, animal testing is utterly cruel. To sentence 100 million thinking, feeling animals to life in a laboratory and intentionally cause them pain, loneliness, and fear is completely ruthless. Countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use. Others are injured and will still live the rest of their...

...Many products that we used now are tested on animals before they are sold to us. Animal experimentation has been an ongoing phenomenon for years. Animals are used for research to help evaluate the effectiveness of new medicines and industry products on human. These industry products can range from beauty products and medicinal drugs to household cleaners (Humane Society International, 2013, para. 1). Collins (2011) gathered statistics from various sources like the U.S. Department of Agriculture and noted, “ yearly, U.S. accounted for more than 100 million animals that are killed due to researches” (para. 1). Noting that this statistic only applies to the U.S. makes it very alarming, as there are animal testing going on everywhere in the world. Although we are not able to understand animals as well as we do humans, it does not mean that they should not be given equal rights. Animal experimentation should be made illegal globally as every life should be seen as important as another. There are several reasons why animal experimentation should be stopped. Numerous alternatives are made available for product testing and experimenting, however there does not seem to be a way to stop animal experimentation for good. Animal and humans may seem similar in many ways, both having the same organ system and similar ways of executing task. However just like no two humans are the same, animal's response to a drug can be different to a human's. For example a drug know as “Penicillin...

Why Is Animal Testing Wrong

...you feel if you were locked in a cage, with people coming and going, experimenting on you? Would you feel good? This is what actually happens to animals. I believe that animal testing is horrible and should not be continued. Why this is important is because of my reasons, that are: first it is expensive; second that it is inaccurate; and my third and most important reason is because animal testing abuses an animal rights. My first reason why I think animal testing is bad is because it is really expensive. According to Vittana “... the total cost of caring for a dog could be over $9000 per year.”. That is only a possibility, and only that, but the cost could still be well over $500, which is the least amount required, and even though...

Animal Cruelty

...Cruelty Involved in Animal Testing Hobbes, the cat, has been under experimentation for most of his life. This is probably the last time that he will ever have to be experimented on again. Why? Because he is probably not going to make it through this time. The makers of Herbal Essences are about to force shampoo down his throat to see what happens to its organs. Even if the cat lives through the process, they are going to have to kill it to see which organs it could have damaged. If this was an actual human going through this deadly experiment, people would be in shock. Instead, scientists are testing whether or not swallowing shampoo would affect a cat. Testing on animals is a very disagreeable process that should not be allowed. Animal testing started a numerous years ago to help provide humans with information. The process of animal testing is one of the most disturbing experiments ever done. Many cosmetics and personal care products are made every year and are put into the market after being tested on animals. Almost every product has been animal tested at some stage in its development. The website titled "Animals in Product Testing" stated, "...these products have gone through a long and complex testing process that leaves millions of animals mutilated, burned, poisoned and gassed in outmoded and unnecessary tests." From these different experiments, animals are often left with different diseases like Syphilis, herpes, or AIDS ("Animal Rights: Animal Testing"). Manufacturers...

...seventy million animals are hurt and killed in the name of science by private institutions, household products and cosmetics companies, government agencies, educational institutions, and scientific centers. Animal testing is wrong and downright mean. Innocent animals should not be treated badly and caused pain for the sake of a human's safety. Many people think animal testing is good while others think it is wrong. I think it is completely and absolutely wrong. Some people argue that humans are not necessarily superior to animals, so why should animals be experimented on and made to suffer to protect human beings? Do you know what animal testing is, what condition the animals live in, and what some alternatives to testing animals are? Animal testing is the use of animals in biological, medical, and psychological studies. Human beings and many animals have similar organ systems and body processes. Experiments on animals help scientists increase knowledge about the way the human body works. In the United States, scientists perform experiments on more than twenty million animals each year. That is way too many. Medical researchers study animals to get a better understanding of body processes in humans and animals. They use many animals to study the causes and effects of illnesses, such as cancer and heart disease. Vivisection is the most controversial issue of animal rights. Vivisection actually means “cutting a living thing”. Some popular companies that still test on animals are Band-Aid...

Happiness and sadness are two major emotions both animal and human both experience, weather we were born in a jungle or a hospital. We don't know precisely what's in store for these creatures but you can be sure it's likely to be something that turns your stomach. ...Testing Products on Animals Today there are many ways to test products and find cures for diseases. Doctors can take tissue samples from people and grow them in test tubes to evaluate the specimen. They can also use computer modeling techniques to study diseases and products. With so many ways to test products and find cures, doctors do not need to rely on animals. Doctors should not use animals for testing because it is cruel and unreliable. Doctors should not use animals in experiments because it is unreliable. Animals are very different than humans, so what worked on an animal might not work on a person. 95% of drugs that worked in animal tests failed on humans. A recent study showed that only 19% of 93 dangerous drug side effects could have been predicted by animals. “Using mice and rats to test the safety of drugs is only accurate 43% of the time” (Dr. Nick Palmer Unreliable animal testing). That shows that using rodents to test products isn’t the best thing for doctors to rely on. In 2011, the Institute of Medicine concluded that there was no current need for chimpanzees in biomedical research. Chimpanzees share up to 98% of their genes with...

Why Is Animal Testing Wrong

...My topic of research is animal research and testing, and as I have done the research on this topic, I have found many different opinions on how it either helps, or it’s hurting innocent animals for pointless research. As I look more and more into animal research and testing, I find that a minute number of people are doing anything. There are proven moments where this outrageous research has helped, but there more instances where it´s been proven wrong as well. Animal research helps further the field of science, yet its practices can yield both positive and negative outcomes. What happens to animals if they fail a test is they are put down, but during this testing, the worst part is they are poked and prodded. They are paralyzed, unable to...
