I enjoy eating at many different restaurants, but Red Lobster is my favorite. One reason I enjoy Reb lobster is because of the atmosphere; it’s not like other restaurants. I also like it because of the great service they offer. Reb Lobster’s menu offers plenty of fresh seafood’s. I am always ready to eat at this restaurant. I enjoy going to Red Lobster because of the nautical atmosphere, the friendly servers, and the variety of fresh seafood. When I walk into Red Lobster, the first thing I see is the live lobster. The feeling when I get in there feels like I’m on a boat. The lighting in Reb lobster is very dim, which makes it feel very romantic. It’s not too loud like other restaurants; it’s at the right volume so you can enjoy your food. The smell of all the seafood just makes me hungry. …show more content…
As soon as I enter through the door employees are very hospitable. They take me to my table and give me a menu, while letting me know what their specials are on that day. The servers are very amicable. They are very attentive to my wants. They are always giving me refills and bringing out their delicious bread. They also try to interact with my family and I, to make us feel as comfortable as possible.
Not only are the employees friendly but the variety and quality of the food is great. At Red Lobster you can eat fresh shrimp, lobster, and fish. If I’m not in the mood for seafood they also have great dishes like chicken or pasta. Seafood is not only thing that they have a variety of, they also have desserts like ice cream, cheesecake, pie, and hot cocoa. All of these different types of food are made hot and fresh just like I want it. My favorite dish at Reb lobster is the shrimp Alfredo, it’s just delicious. I think Red Lobster’s seafood is the best place to get seafood if you have the taste for

An in-Depth Look at Darden Restaurants, Inc. vs. Barington Capital Group Lp

...Achieve 10 Bibliography 23 Executive Summary This is the first paragraph of your executive summary. It should be indented, it should be double-spaced, and it should be in 12 pt Times New Roman font (as should the rest of the body of your term paper). An executive summary should be no longer than two pages (and preferably shorter), and should be written after your paper has been completed. It is a complete summary of your recommendations, and the reader should get a clear picture from this section alone. Assume that the reader reads nothing else. Darden Restaurants, Inc., a multi-billion dollar full-service restaurant company, is facing – and will be facing many difficult challenges. In addition to billions in lost revenue from the economic downturn and a severe shortage in their most served menu item, they have recently been challenged by a new minority shareholder who is pressuring them to reorganize their corporate structure. This activist investor, Barington Capital Group, LP, is known for being particularly aggressive and frequently getting what they want. Darden’s revenues are down significantly over the last couple of years in their two flagship – and typically most profitable restaurants, Red Lobster and Olive Garden. While they have consistently held the majority of the market share of the sector for quite some time, their top position is in peril – both because of poor performance, and an almost imminent battle with Barington. They have recently...

Leadership Ethics

...difference between right and wrong very early in life. Knowing the difference doesn’t change in the business world. A lot of times in business, leaders find themselves in situations where they have to choose an ethical or unethical way out. The Ethical Behavior and Social Responsibility slide says, “If it looks, smells, or acts illegal, it probably IS.” I believe in most ethical cases, the individual knows when they are doing something illegal or wrong. Unethical decisions not only ruin careers, but also ruin the reputation of companies, brands, and stakeholders. These leaders’ often make these horrible decisions without thinking things through, and end up losing their job. Is it really worth it? When I was the Culinary Manager at Red Lobster my goal was to always be consistent and keep food cost percent down. The company food cost percent goal was to be between three and five percent. My restaurant was consistently below two percent each month, which made others wonder how that was happening. I had nothing to hide, and at the time I loved the attention, so I was always eager to talk about our success. This was very early in my career, and I was a little naïve and didn’t realize that the numbers we were producing were thought of as unethical. We went through audits just like all of the other restaurants and the mainly, we had the paperwork to support everything. We had created different ways to spot check things and made sure we kept track of everything that was wasted. This...

...hCG Hormone Diet Pharmacist regularly field questions about weight loss programs. Most develop some degree of familiarity with many of the popular diet programs, in order to redirect customers from some of the more harmful plans and approaches. Recently, a pharmacist friend of mine was asked about how to best to manage a “plateau” on the hCG diet. He admitted that he never knew it was being dispensed for weight loss purposes. He mentioned that he frequently dispensed human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), and knew of its use for the treatment of infertility, where it promotes ovulation. But weight loss? He confessed that he couldn’t think of a mechanism for how hCG could promote weight loss. So, he approached me (his biology/nutrition based friend) to see if I were willing to investigate this weight loss method for him. After some digging, I found a long, rich vein of pseudoscience that dates back decades, but was this method safe and effective? The Background:  hCG is comprised of 244 amino acids.  It is produced in large amounts in a pregnant woman’s placenta, extracted from her urine. Actually, its presence in urine signifies a positive pregnancy test. Historically, hCG is used, in part, for the treatment of infertility in females to help induce ovulation.  Its use as a weight loss adjunct has roots that date back to the 1950s, when British physician A.T.W Simeons announced case studies of weight loss in patients given hCG. He combined a reduction diet (500 kcal per day) with...

At each stage of strategy implementation, the prospect for marketers to research and comprehend the select target markets yields a profit scenario. As Kudler Fine Foods establishes the company’s presence in Italy, the home market and France, signifying the secondary market, it is essential to create strategies concerning logistics from a business perspective rather than an industry adapted or suggested alternative. The Perception of Taxpayers Towards Gst in Malaysia

...THE PERCEPTION OF TAXPAYERS TOWARD GOODS AND SERVICES TAX (GST) IMPLEMENTATION IN MALAYSIA CHAPTER ONE - INTRODUCTION 1.1 Backgroud of Study Malaysian taxation system is generally divided into two, which are direct taxes and indirect taxes. Indirect taxes are controlled by the Royal Malaysian Custom Department (RMCD) and it consists of four components such as excise duties, customs duty, sales tax and service tax. Direct taxes are under the control of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM). The IRBM is responsible for all policies relating to direct taxes such as income tax of individual and business, petroleum income tax, real property expansions tax, and stamp duty. From the government perception, taxation is a vital economic tool because it can be employed to regulate the economy, to invigorate economic growth through the granting of fiscal incentives as a principal aim of implementing tax policies and to provide funds for development projects (JeyapalanKasipillai, 2005). The contribution of direct taxes and indirect taxes to government revenue in 2009 amounted to RM78.375 billion (49.4%) and RM28.129 billion (1 7.73%), respectively. This shows that taxation contributes more than 60% to the Malaysian government revenue. Recently, the Malaysian government established the implementation of goods and services tax (GST) to replace Sales Tax and Services Tax (SST). The GST plan was first raised in 1988 but at the time it was considered unnecessary because the sales...

Culture Paper Level 3

...Scotland and Indonesia Scotland is part of the United Kingdom and shares a border with northern England; the majority of citizens are Caucasian. The country is divided into two regions: the highlands and lowlands. The highlands are a rocky, mountainous area with less population than the lowlands. There are not any big cities or land to farm; this leads to fewer opportunities for income and a low socioeconomic status. They are a proud group because of their Gaelic roots; they look down upon the British-like lowlanders. The lowlands’ mild climate and grasslands are favorable for farming and ranching. There are several cities and industries which are advantageous for work; Lowlanders have a higher socioeconomic status. Indonesia is made up of over 17,000 islands, but only about 6,000 are inhabited; the majority of the population lives on one of five main islands. Like Scotland, there are more opportunities for income in urban areas. The socioeconomic status of citizens in rural districts and on remote islands is lower; rice and tobacco farming are their main means of support. The main language spoken in Scotland is English, but the accent is very thick and hard for outsiders to understand. I interviewed K. Gow, a Canadian citizen, and through written questions, I interviewed her mother, E. Gow, who relocated from Scotland to Canada several years ago. K. Gow said, “You wouldn’t be able to understand my mum” (personal communication, July 29, 2012), and offered to interpret. E...

Marketing Plan

...[pic] La Fiesta Marketing Plan Deanna Huneycutt [pic] La Fiesta, Marketing Plan I. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY La Fiesta is an authentic Mexican restaurant located in the small town of Greenwood, population of just under 9,000 people. Opened and owned by Able Gonzales since 1995, it has become a very popular eatery in the town. As with most restaurants, La Fiesta has peak times around lunch and dinner that are much busier than the rest of the day. This causes scheduling challenges for cooks and wait staff. Another challenged faced, although a somewhat positive one, is the lack of parking space during the peak hours. Also, the bottleneck around customers paying out could be eased with some change in procedures or additional equipment. The marketing plan was developed based off a SWOT analysis and focuses on continued growth and customer relations. La Fiesta can gain visibility in the community by being more involved with the school district and expanding into social networking. Another focus of the plan is the efficiency of customer service and ease of congestion inside and outside of the restaurant. Better communication between wait staff and customers is also addressed. Since La Fiesta is a restaurant, it is considered a business-to-customer marketer. II. ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS Open since 1995, La Fiesta has made a strong presence in the town of Greenwood. It was established after another authentic Mexican restaurant...
