First and foremost, companies may use social media tools in order to introduce their brand to potential customers. Today millions of people spend a lot of time in social networks. Consequently, a great part of information that people get comes right from social media. Nowadays, advertisings in Facebook and etc. gather much more attention than other types of them. That is why a lot of companies do not even spend money on TV or billboard advertisements. Of course, if rightly realized, a company can attract a big number of customers with minimum expenses with the use of social media. First, companies should consider the target audience. For example, considering the age group, companies should take into account that young people most of all use Facebook and Twitter, while elder business people prefer LinkedIn. Second, there should be a clear marketing strategy. The advertisements should not be annoying. Creative pictures can also attract people. With a good strategy a company can create a lot of customers for itself.

Second, companies may use social media in order to promote their brand and acquire their customers with products more deeply. Indeed, a number of companies do not have sites. Rather, they choose to open a social network accounts and introduce themselves through media. This is, of course, much less costly, while the audience is wider. An example of use of the social networks, can be a company that is selling goods. It may post the information about new arrivals on their page. Customers would be rapidly aware of this and visit the store. This is also much more comfortable than annoying text messages coming from some companies. Moreover, in order to keep the customers engaged, some activities might be performed in companies’ social network pages. These could be some contests, bonuses and actions. Again, the proper use of social media will result in

...Reflective Practice Guidance Logs Part 1 – Objective Observation(Clearly identify the problem. Examine the “context” of the problem.)Date: _____OCT 04 2013_______Name of children: OB, CasmIn the free play time, I was sitting on the carpet and supervising the children. OB was the first one to play with the toy. C came over and wanted it too. C tried to take the toy from OB and they started to fight over it. Both of them were pulling the toy. OB pushed C, scramming, “mine, mine” | Part 2 – Decision(Clearly identify the guidance strategy and state why the chosen strategy is appropriate for this child / situation.)Based on the above case, the guidance strategy that I chose in this solution was giving choices. This strategy is developmentally appropriate. Children like to say words like “Mine” and “no” (Ages and Stages: A brief overview.) Making choices is a choice which the children need to be taught. According to books “For children, being able to practice making choices and decision as a child helps them develop an important life skill.” (Marion, 2011.pp132). This strategy would give C a chance to make his own choice and also help her to play with other children and develop their friendship. | Part 3 – Action(Clearly discuss your actions, the child’s response and the results of the guidance strategy.)I took the toy away and bent down to meet their eye level. I used positive words like “please be gentle to your friend.” Instead of “don’t do it!” I gave the toy back to...

...Is it difficult to find happiness? In the past, I would say yes! But now, no! I was always the top 5 in class when I was a primary student. I involuntarily set high expectation on myself. I expected to get 100 marks for each dictation. But finally I always got disappointed because I made some stupid mistakes like forgetting to add the “s”. Even though I got 99, I didn’t feel excited at all. I was the second in form in accounting in Form 5. But I was not satisfied because what I expected was the first in form. I felt like “How come I am the second one!” The situation worsens in university. I expect higher because I got a good result in HKALE. Even if I get a score which I am satisfied in some weak subjects, I don’t feel glad when I know my score is the lowest among my peers. I used to be the most outstanding one but now I am the worst. It is totally like falling from the paradise to the hell. After the first lesson, the realization hits me. Happiness = Reality/ Expectation. That’s totally true! In my formula, my expectation is so high that happiness hardly finds me. 99 marks in dictation is actually a very good result. Why should I stay stubborn and focus on the 1 mark lost? Why should I magnify the negative side? I exactly fall into the trap of negativity bias that is focusing on negative thing like the 1 mark lost, the name of “first in form” lost. Also, I shouldn’t compare everything with others. Even if I got the lowest score among my friends, I did try my best in my...

Water Derivative Plot

...ANALYTICAL PLOTS FOR ANALYSING CONING & CHANNELING IN DIFFERENT RESERVOIRS OF UPPER INDUS BASIN OF PAKISTAN Muhammad Osama Jafri (NED University), Hafiz Haleem ud Din Farooqi (NED University), Waleed Anwar Saleem (NED University) Abstract Water and gas drive mechanisms pose different problems for a petroleum engineer. The most common tribulations encountered are water and gas coning, high permeability layer breakthrough and near wellbore water channeling. In order to identify and differentiate between these tribulations different techniques can be applied. In this extended abstract, the characteristic trends of log-log plots of WOR (Water Oil Ratio) vs. Time will be analyzed for different mechanisms on the basis of proposed techniques by K.S. Chan (SPE Paper No. 30775). The derivatives of the plots show different trends for coning and channeling which makes it easier to interpret the situation. The identification of the problems will contribute to optimize water/gas coning treatments and other encountered problems. This technique has been applied on the wells of Upper Indus Basin (Potwar region) of Pakistan for the identification of coning or channeling in the wells. Introduction In a hydrocarbon reservoir, water is the most abundant fluid existing in the pores with the oil and as a separate phase in an aquifer. Broadly, the produced water can be classified as good water and bad water. Good water is the water which sweeps or displaces the oil and is produced within the economic...

Welco Lumber Case Analysis

...size of 365 logs being processed. However, actual data provided proved that it was a true sample size of only 362 logs, as data for logs # 30, 123, and 127 are missing from his report. He videotaped 3 operators, April, Sid, and Jim, marking the logs, how each log was broken down and the degree to which the cants were properly centered. Gene then did a comparison of what the cost was of the log in its current condition (actual value), to what would have been the correct value of the log if the cut had been accurate (potential value). This allowed him to see the potential revenue that Welco Lumber Company is losing out on their business (profit gain). Question 1: How much profit is lost on imperfect board cuts? During the processing of 362 logs, it was found that exactly half (181) or fifty percent were processed without error. The remaining 181 logs were found to have undergone some type of error in the breakdown process—excessive log breakdown, off center cant, reduced value cut. As a result, the Welco Lumber Company missed out on $735.14 in potential profit. Taking these results one step further, the potential amount of money lost on each of the 181 logs with errors was broken down into ranges of value lost as shown below. From the graph we can see the nominal value that was lost the most fell between the $1.51 to $4.50 ranges. Question 2: How does performance vary among operators? Below is a table that shows the analysis of each operator by log size, log volume, and...

...economic, political and professional factors on their own and others’ professional culture. · To develop the students’ awareness of professional culture and role, and an increasing awareness of their own cultural identity. As a way of enabling you to achieve this, you are expected to keep a reflective diary. If you are unsure about your ability or motivation to do this, the above quote by Oscar Wilde may inspire you to write. You may not feel that you have anything sensational to write but you will be surprised how interesting you will find what you have written when you look back. The diary is a vehicle for collecting information and responses to major elements of the exchange and to enable students to log and reflect on their experiences. Reflection according to Johns (1993) is: - “...... the reflexive method of gaining access to an understanding of experience which enables practitioners to develop and increase the effectiveness of personal action within the context of their work”. Reflection Essay

...of communication amongst the health care professionals and how a good nursing documentation is an integral part of nursing. It will also demonstrate how reflection enabled me to make sense of and learn from this experience, as well as identify any further learning developments needed to improve my practice and achieve the level of competency needed for when I qualify as an assistant practitioner. While discussing the knowledge underpinning practice, evidence based literature will be reviewed to support my discussion and for the purpose of reflection the essay will be written in the first person. Spouse, J, et al (2008). Jonhs, C (2009) defined reflection as learning through our every day experiences, towards realising one’s vision of desirable practice as a lived reality. He also added that it is a critical and a flexible process of self inquiry and transformation of being and becoming the practitioner you desire to be. However, Ghaye, T et al. (2000) stated that for the health care professionals to develop a more reflective posture, they must fully embrace both the principles and the practices of reflection. It is about becoming more aware of how we learn and how this affects what we think, feel and do. There are different models for reflection; some are more complex and detailed than others. To help me with my reflection, I have chosen Gibbs (1988) reflective cycle as a guide: The names of the patient, staff members and health care setting will be changed to protect...

...Learning through reflection 2 Reflection is an active process whereby the professional can gain an understanding of how historical, social, cultural and personal experiences have contributed to professional knowledge and practice (Wilkinson, 1996). Duffy (2007) believes that reflective practice is an active deliberate process of critically examining practice where an individual is challenged and enabled to undertake the process of self-enquiry to empower the practitioner to realize desirable and effective practice within a reflexive spiral of personal transformation. Learning is derived from experience but it doesn’t just happen. For it to take place you not only need to engage in reflection you must also record it. By thinking about what you are doing and why you are doing it is what turns your experiences into meaningful learning. If you are to become a reflective practitioner you have to use that learning to increase your professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of not only yourself but also to your patients / clients. Why Reflect Reflection is really a process that begins with looking back on a situation, pondering over it, learning from it and then using the new knowledge to help you in future similar situations. Reflection, which is learning through experience, is not a new concept. As humans, we naturally reflect on our surroundings and experiences. However, the conscious, deliberate and ordered process of using reflection as a learning tool...

Third Reflection Paper

...GE 2218 Third Reflection Paper “Write your own script for your play” this is the most impressing point I have learnt form Mr. Ki ‘ s success on his career, which is also the major principle for his career management. In this talk, Mr. Ki shed light on the meaning of success from different perspectives and dimensions. I can tell from his career that he is satisfied with what he did in the past and what he is doing now. There are two essential factors I can draw from his experience, reinvent your career and refine your life. For the points that he raised in this talk, I quite endorsed his unique perception on career that it is divided into three phases. “ Work for success”, “ work for significance” and “ work for legacy”. Apart from myself, I guess most of the people value ones’ success by wealth and positions. Mr. Ki , however, adds to that life structure, purpose, identity and significance. Exemplified by Mr. Ki ‘s career, he retreated from his respected working position just at the prime of his career simply because he wanted to do something meaningful, not only to his life but also to the whole society. So he transfers his prowess to help and engage in social enterprise project. Reinventing one’s career is equally important in a sense that it helps put your career into perspective, and achieve a balance of life, just like what Mr. Ki mentioned, the second career, the parallel career and the social career. Besides, always reflect on you experience as well as have a full...

Reflection on Mentorship Practice

...Examples of Reflective Writing Example 1 I arrived on the ward at 7:30 ready to begin a 12-hour shift. After receiving handover, my mentor assigned me the job of bathing Mr B with the help of a healthcare assistant. Mr B has Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), a progressive disease of the nervous system with rapid deterioration due to spongiform encephalopathy. He is not expected to live to Christmas, even though he is only 19 years old. He is mentally aware of what is going on but is physically unable to demonstrate activities of daily living, including eating and drinking, has limited communication skills and is doubly incontinent. He is unsafe on his feet so mobilises with a wheelchair. I approached Mr B’s bed and asked his consent to take him for a bath. While the bath was running we began helping him to undress. He looked rather nervous. At the thought of myself being in his position, being the same age as him, I began to feel embarrassed too. I thought that I could not possibly be a professional individual if I let my embarrassment and sympathy get in the way of my nursing care. We assisted Mr B into the bath and started his wash. I knew he was uncomfortable and wanted to be able to wash himself, but was unable to do so. I was finding it difficult to look him in the eye, especially when it came to washing his genitalia. I tried to ease this by making conversation, but in a way this made matters worse. After the bath we dried Mr B, dressed him and returned him...

...Date: 27th October, 2014 Title: Morrisons breaks pledge on low prices Link: http://www.thesundaytimes.co.uk/sto/business/Retail_and_leisure/article1475669.ece The ethical issue was related to credibility of a company. It was about Morrisons the supermarket increased prices of some products marked with “I’m cheaper” sign after promising to cut prices permanently on over 1000 goods six months ago. The supermarket claimed the rise in prices was only a reflection of “commodity inflation” and still “lower than they would have been” without the “I’m Cheaper”cuts. No doubt by increasing the price of goods, the supermarket could compensate the losses from the inflation in supply costs. This do help to maintain profitability of the supermarket and strengthen the confidence of its investors. Also, even though the prices had been raised, they were still lower than the general prices of these goods. The promise of enduring price cut was kept. It was a win-win situation in the eyes of Morrisons. One of the problems arose in this issue was the reputation of Morrisons towards the customers was deeply affected. Although action of increasing the prices due to inflation was justifiable, Morrisons still broke part of its vow of long-lasting price cut. A credibility gap between Morrisons and customers might have been develop as a result. Moreover, the intention of the supermarket was to maintain its profitability while the issue of the news had leaded to a fall in its share price of 0.46...
