Reflection to my 320-hour On-the-Job Training

“A mind that is stretched by new experiences will never go back to its old dimensions”, Oliver Wendell Holmes jr. - America's former Supreme Court Associate Justice – said. Therefore, I thank AMICI Mercantile Inc. especially the BPM Department for honing me to be the person I am today. Thank you for helping me develop my critical and analytical thinking to be an efficient professional in the future. I am very fulfilled and elated with what I have become after the 320 hours training.

Time have passed very fast and I really enjoyed staying as AMICI Mercantile Inc. - Business Process Management's OJT Trainee. I immensely enjoyed doing business processes in the KISSFLOW application. I never thought I would be given an opportunity as massive as this. To be exposed in this application is such a big deal because it is an existing competent application that I can use for the future as I become a professional. In addition, I was also taught how to use and integrate Google Applications such as google forms, publisher (BillMyClient), and docs. What makes even more exciting and amazing is that all of our output will be used by the employees of the organization from the bottom to the top. But more than the technical information that I gained from this 40-day experience, I was able to see and know the good working ethics and practices that all the employees had exemplify. They really showed that there are far more things than being a technically effective worker.

Another factor that made this OJT training worthwhile are the people I am working with for the past 40 days. The BPM department especially Mr. Kevin M. Lao, Mr. Berson Ramos and Engr. Abigail dela Torre were really generous in sharing all their knowledge and guiding us to be a good employee. Automating procedures and business processes is not an easy task but they were always reliable and approachable whenever we got inquiries and questions. Honestly, The method used in our 40-day experience was really a good. It is because I am learning together with my friends who, just like me, were hired as OJT Trainees. Learning is so much fun when you're doing it together with your friends. Socializing and communicating is much more easier..In short, Learning is better spent together with your friends. I know that the set-up in the future as I worked will not be like this. My friends and I will not be able to work at the same company. But, as of now, when its still just a training, the set-up I had as an OJT Trainee was very ideal. I can't imagine a better scenario.

In conclusion, just like what is indicated in the beginning of this, I give my highest gratification to all the employees at AMICI Mercantile Inc. for providing us an ideal working environment and challenging internship program that are really aligned to what our course requires. This is an experience I will always treasure and keep for the rest of my life.

The following paper will go in to more depth on what was discussed and what we learned as a team as well as individuals. The team also was able to go over the Mystat lab that we were assigned in the individual assignment. In step one a team would state a null hypothesis as well as an alternate hypothesis. The null hypothesis is used only for testing. We either reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis. The alternate hypothesis is accepted if sample data provide enough evidence that the null hypothesis is false. No matter what the problem looks like the null hypothesis will always contain the equal sign. This is true because since the null hypothesis is being tested there is a need for a specific value to be seen in the calculations. When comparing the means of two or more groups the team must state the null hypothesis. Random samples of each population must be chosen to show the formula in a working status. To get a more accurate sample a higher number of the populations should be used. An independent sample T-test is used to compare the means of two or more groups. Pooled variance can be used if the variances of the two populations...

Week 4 Reflection

...Reflection Cullen McPeek, Danielle Taliaferro, Afshin Mibrolooki, Joshua Lemmerman, Cary Colome QNT/351 February - 17 - 2015 Mohammad Sharifzadeh Reflection In week four, Team C read about the steps in testing a research hypothesis, comparing the means of two or more groups, and calculating the correlation between two variables. This paper will go into deeper into what we have learned as a team and as well as individuals. I think first we need to state what a research hypothesis is. A research hypothesis is "Represents the hypothesis that will be accepted only if the data provide convincing evidence of its truth. This usually represents the values of a population parameter for which the researcher wants to gather evidence to support." (Statistics for Business and Economics, 2011.) The first thing one must do in testing a research hypothesis is to make sure that a research question is phrased. The second step in this procedure will be to study the proposed theory in terms of parameters. Thirdly a study will be designed. Once this is done the fourth thing that takes place is data is recorded and collected. The fifth thing is the data is summarized and a test statistic is computed. After computing this the sixth thing is the observed significant level is computed. Once all of these things are completed the final and last thing to complete is to draw conclusion. In taking this seven step process one will be able to clearly state the steps in testing a research hypothesis...

Thinking In Pharmacy Practice

...One scholarly writing sample that I chose to analyze was "Thinking in Pharmacy Practice: A Study of Community Pharmacists' Clinical Reasoning in Medication Supply Using the Think-Aloud Method" by Hayley Croft, Conor Gilligan, Rohan Rasiah, Tracy Levett-Jones, and Jennifer Schneider. In summary, the article discussed the examination of the thought processes of ten pharmacists when working in a community setting. From the qualitative data that was collected, the researchers derived seven core thinking processes and find these processes essential to emphasize while teaching and in pharmacy practice. The seven core thinking processes were considering prescription in context, retrieving information, identifying medication-related issues, processing...

A Study: Income and Happiness Across Europe: Do Reference Values Matter?

...analysis 5 Econometric Model 6 Critical Reflection 8 Reference List 11 A Study: Income and happiness across Europe: Do reference values matter? Summary The authors in this study - Guglielmo Maria Caporale, Yannis Georgellis, Nicholas Tsitsianis and Ya Ping Yin - assess the relationship between income and subjective well-being; by tracing back to works of Adam Smith, Karl Marx, Veblen and Duesenberry, the authors revive significant attention to the neoclassical economic theory that portrays well-being and absolute income to be highly correlated. The data was retrieved from the European Social Survey (ESS) to examine a potential relationship between income and happiness (self-reported satisfaction), the authors execute their study across 19 European Countries. With utilisation of Easterlin (1974) as their seminal paper, the research draws attention to the Easterlin Paradox (Easterlin, 1995) that suggests there is no relationship between economic expansion in industrialised countries and its average level of happiness. The authors look to assess topical contradictory findings that conclude absolute income is correlated with levels of happiness (e.g.: Frijters et al., 2004). The research purpose of this paper was to re-examine this controversial link for a number of European countries, specific consideration was given to whether relative income was a chief determinant of well-being. The results show that for the sample of 19 countries, income is positively correlated...

Example of Apa

...Running Head: STUDENT PAPER EXAMPLE This is an Example of an APA Style Student Paper Gregory White, Ph.D. National University Abstract This sample paper provides National University students with an example of what features of APA style they are expected to use when writing student papers. The required features do not require several features required by APA style for papers that report original research or that propose a research project. Students who follow the guidelines embodied in this sample paper are much more likely to receive better grades from National University professors than those who ignore the guidelines. The guidelines in this example are based on the sixth edition of the Publication Manual (American Psychological Association, 2010). This is an Example of an APA Style Student Paper This sample paper presents most elements of American Psychological Association (APA) style that your instructors will expect you to follow when writing papers for National University 9sychology courses (American Psychological Association, 2010). You will use this format for longer papers such as literature reviews, expository and narrative essays, as well as for shorter papers in which you are required to write just a few pages of commentary on some reading, assigned exercise, or class activity. In all cases your instructor will tell you if an assignment requires full APA style as outlined in this paper. In almost all cases, you should use appropriate grammar...

...Week Four Reflection Week Four Reflection Research is highly essential in statistics. In order to properly conduct research, we must accurately complete the steps in researching a hypothesis, compare the means of two or more groups, and calculate the correlation between two variables. In this paper, Team C will explain the steps in researching a hypothesis; illustrate a comparison between the means of two or more groups, and make a calculation of the correlation between two variables. We will also reflect on the topics in week four that we are most comfortable with and the topics we struggled with at the same time. Additionally, we will explain how the topics relate to the applications within our personal or professional fields. Steps in Research Hypothesis In science class as children we were taught that a hypothesis was an educated guess, as we blossom into a more mature age we discover that it goes a bit deeper. A hypothesis can be used in different ways most of them in our daily lives. There are two types of statistical test you can perform. The null hypothesis’s that which represents the status quo to the party performing the sampling experiment—the hypothesis that will be accepted unless the data provide convincing evidence that it is false. The alternative, or research, hypothesis is that which will be accepted only if the data provide convincing evidence of its truth. In statistic, there are seven steps you need to perform to arrive at a statistical hypothesis...

Effectiveness of Using Geotextiles N Flexible Pavements

...must be stable, unyielding, properly drained and free from volume changes due to variation in moisture. If not, it leads to failure of pavement. Normally, pavement fails due to the reasons such as structural, functional, or materials failure, or a combination of these. But in the study area, it is observed that, the pavement failure is under the category of structural failure. To overcome this failure, it needs to improve the sub grade soil bearing capacity. In this project Synthetic Non-woven geotextiles (GT) were placed at different depth of soil and the improvement in soil bearing capacity are checked by CBR and UCC test. From this study, single layer of GT introduced at the centre (mid depth) shows better performance than those samples with the GT layer at other depth. 1. INTRODUCTION In Sivakasi-Sattur State Highway-187 (SH-187), the sub grade consists of High Plasticity Inorganic Clay (CH). Because of its high swelling and shrinkage characteristics, the soil has been a challenge to the highway engineers. The soil is very hard when dry, but loses its strength completely when in wet condition. Due to the alternate wetting and drying process, vertical movement takes place in the soil mass. All these movements lead to failure of pavement, in the...
