On her way to the bodega, she sees something shiny glistening next to the front door. It’s quite strange how no one has noticed it but her. Reina gets closer and closer and decides to grab it. Yet again no one notices it, she continues to find it weird because being in the Bronx everyone notices everything. When she gets a chance to look closely at it she notices it’s a lamp but not just a regular lamp. It looks just like those magical lamps from those dorky movies, like Aladdin and such. She keeps looking at the lamp with suspicion and in a sudden her rubbing and moving around brings a genie to life. He says, “Wassup youngin’ man you’ve done me a stack, being in here ain’t easy.” With fright, Reina drops the lamp and pants nonstop. Once again the genie speaks and says, “Ok now you need to calm it down, it’s not that serious I’m just here to help you out.” She replies, “You? Help Me? Looking side to side Reina is lost for words. She puts the lamp in her bag and continues to shop in the bodega.
Sometime later, Reina is home in her room just staring at the lamp. She spins and twirls it to try to get the genie to come out and nothing happens. She gives up and decides to wait until tomorrow. It’s morning time and the first thing Reina does is grab the lamp, with one touch the genie is up and running again. “Goooooood mornin’ it’s such a great day to grant some wishes.” Reina asks, “How come you wouldn’t show up last night?
