The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh it was published on May 12, 2015, and it is set in ancient India. This book is about a young boy king, who takes a new queen every night only to have her killed by morning. One of his most recent brides was Shahzad's best friend, Shiva. So Sharzad becomes determined to become the king's newest bride and have him killed, and keep herself alive until the following morning. Sharzad is a very strong girl and she is very opinionated.Shazi (Sharzad) has thought of an arrangement before she volunteered to wed the ruler, her arrangement was to tell Khalid (the king) a story consistently before bed, and leave off on a cliffhanger, so the only way he could hear whatever remains of the story was to give her a chance to live until morning. So every night she continues to tell the story, but always leaves it unfinished. Throughout these nights and days, Shazi becomes more comfortable around the king, and they soon fall in love with each other.…show more content… Because of the recent heartache Khalid has caused her family from the death of Shiva, she is determined to follow through with her plan, but love soon gets in the way. One complaint that I have on the book itself and not on the plot of the book is that at some points along the story the vocab was above grade seven reading level, but luckily almost every word I did not know the meaning was in the glossary in the back of the book. There was a lot of important messages in the book that I really appreciated being there. One of them was that despite the fact that Shazi began experiencing passionate feelings for Khalid she didn't pardon him for the greater part of the terrible deeds he has done
