Repair Shop Well in this situation there are many pros and cons. The pros to this situation would be one you still have everything on the DVD but you have to put it all back on the computer. This would affect someone who has had the computer for a while because they may have more information on the computer to that of a new computer. Just installing the operating system and formatting the hard drives means any applications they have on the computer are gone and would have to be reinstalled which could take a while or may not be available at the time they need them. If someone has had the computer for a while and just used it for the internet they would not be as bad off as say a student who has all his work on the computer. Someone who uses it for business could be affected very badly also. They would probably have a lot of work on the computer and may lose some of this work if they have to get rid of the operating system and would then have to hope they have it backed up somewhere and then have to put it back on the computer, which could take a long time. It would also be bad for say someone like an author who has saved all of his work on this computer because he may lose some of it and have to spend a lot of time putting it back on the

Michaels Auto Repair Shop

...Michael’s Auto Repair Shop Michael’s Auto Repair Shop was the largest chain of auto repair shops in the county with 12% market share, 500 garages, and 3000 employees (including 1000 mechanics). Last year, Michael’s decided to launch a Mobile Mechanic Service (MMS) which enabled the customer to call for a mechanic at the site of the breakdown. The service operated from a Central Control Room (CCR), a call center which received customers’ request and handed them over to various Regional Warehouse Units (RWUs) which housed the mechanics with their pick-up trucks. The mechanics from the RWU received the customer’s request along with the directions of the site of the breakdown and would drive down to the site in their pick up trucks. The instructions to the mechanics were to complete the job on site if it could be completed within 45 minutes with the spares available, or else to tow the car back to the RWU. The RWU also had a support staff that ensured that the pick-up trucks were well stocked with spares and ready for the next service visit. Low productivity Since the business started 10 years ago, the top management of Michael’s was concerned about the productivity of their mechanics, but with the launch of the MMS, this issue became more visible. An analysis of the data showed that on an average, the mechanics were servicing 2.5 cars per day, far fewer than what was expected, since servicing one car took less than an hour to complete. Repair Shop

...Repair Shop As a repair shop, people come in every day with problems from their computers. They have people come in with brand new computers or used computers that are a couple years old. With new computers, there might not be a lot of documents, pictures, video, etc. versus an old computer. On old computers, people have all their information stored on it. When it comes to repairing it, there are multiple ways to keep the information from getting lost. At the same time, if it is not done right, you could possibly lose the information. Different types of users could also affect the way computers could be repaired. A person who only uses the computer to surf the internet would not have a problem if they needed to format the hard drive causing the information to be lost. A person who stores business documents, books, articles, etc. could be effected hard. The best way for them to keep the information is to have the shop save the information on a DVD. Therefore, there are pros and cons when it comes to a repair show working on computers. The pros of saving the documents, pictures, and videos on a DVD is that after the computer has been fixed, if the information was lost, you can restore it. It also helps if you need to put the information onto another computer. With having these things on a DVD, it is also there no matter what happens to the computer. The cons of formatting the hard drive and reinstalling the operating system is that you lose all the information. This takes...

...Unit 10 Analysis 1: Repair Shop NT1110-T Repair Shop Since a computer repair shop will pretty much automatically due two things before working on your computer, which is back up any pictures, videos and documents to a DVD and format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system, it sounds like a good thing to do. However, there can be some pros and some cons to this. The pros would be that everything is backed up and saved on a DVD, therefore none of the customers information is lost on the computer; this would be less time consuming for the customer. The customer would also benefit from a formatted hard drive and the reinstallation of the operating system. Once done, the customer has a repaired computer. The cons to this, is that the customer could be out of a considerable amount of money. Most repair shops will charge for the backup of all files. So it would be best to this on your own before taking it in. Also, the repair shop will not install all the applications that you were using on your computer. Again, you would have to take the time to do this yourself after all repairs are done. Different users can be affected much differently by the policies of this repair shop. Someone with a brand new computer would not have anything to back up versus someone that has had their computer for several years. A user that mostly browses the internet and does not email will not lose documents, files versus a business professional that creates these things on a daily...

Case with Coleen Colombo and Colleagues Resisting Mortgage Fraud

...Synopsis In 2003, Coleen Colombo joined the California branch of BNC, where she worked as a senior underwriter. The BNC office in which Colombo worked was part of the regional group that offered a considerable amount of loan to its customers. The performance of Colombo in her work was outstanding. This is according to a wrongful termination and harassment suit filed in California Superior Court on her behalf and on behalf of five other BNC employees. The suit states that the work environment began to become hostile for Colombo in 2005 after one of her fellow employees, a male wholesaler, began bringing her loans with questionable attributes such as incorrect salaries and home values. The male wholesaler even tried to bribe her to allow a loan with incorrect information to be approved. According to Sylvia Vega-Sutfin, a former employee of BNC, the bribes were common in the company. Vega-Sutfin stated that most of the underwriters in the company demanded bribes so that they can approve the loans. When she refused to pay them, her life in the company began to become unbearable to her; sometimes her loan files could disappear mysteriously and the size of her commission checks dropped significantly. She claimed in the filed suit that her bosses said would make her an example to others who might want to complain regarding the issue of bribery. The same thing happened to Colombo; in her suit, she states that she informed the regional vice president of BNC about the wholesale who wanted...

The user with several years of use of his computer would be ore affected as over the years, he/she may have accumulated many personal files, documents and applications. Of course all of his personal data should be backed up by the computer shop and placed on a CD for later installation, however many programs and applications will be affected. Progeria Informative Speech

...Progeria Intro What is progeria? I. The name progeria stems from the Latin and Greek words pro and geraios and means literally, 'early old age'. The disease is also known as the Hutchinson-Gilford syndrome, after the physicians who first described it, Hutchinson in 1886 and Gilford in 1904. Children with progeria usually have a normal appearance in early infancy. At 9 to 24 months of age, affected children begin to experience profound growth delays, resulting in short height and low weight. They also develop a distinctive facial appearance characterized by a disproportionately small face in comparison to the head; an underdeveloped jaw; malformation and crowding of the teeth; a small nose; prominent eyes and a subtle blueness around the mouth. In addition, by the second year of life, alopecia develops, and the scalp hair may be replaced by small, downy, white or blond hairs. Additional characteristic features include generalized atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease and stroke, hip dislocations, unusually bulging veins of the scalp, loss of the layer of fat beneath the skin, defects of the nails, joint stiffness, skeletal defects, and/or other abnormalities. According to Steve Roach, author of Neurocutaneous disorders, individuals with HGPS develop premature, widespread thickening and loss of elasticity of artery walls, which result in life-threatening complications during childhood, adolescence, or early adulthood. Children with progeria die of heart disease...
