... 2014 Approach to Care “Cancer is the unrestrained development of unusual cells in the body. In the body, there are trillions of cells with many different purposes. These cells “grow and divide to help the body function properly. Cells die when they become old or damaged, and new cells replace them. Cancer develops when the body’s normal control mechanism stops working. Old cells do not die and cells grow out of control, forming new, abnormal cells” (National Cancer Institute, 2014, p. 1). The care of cancer is a multidisciplinary approach. Care of cancer means treating the whole person, treating the force of mind, body, and spirit to energize the process of healing. A whole spectrum of healing therapies are available and there is a wide range of specialists are available to help to make decisions about the diagnostic procedures, treatments available, and the support systems like medical, surgical, nutritional, physical, psychological, and spiritual There are two kinds of therapies available: the conventional and complimentary. ...Name: Arsalan Anwar Business level 3 Unit 1: P1 Introduction: In this assignment I will be selecting two contrasting business which are going to be Tesco and Oxfam. I will be writing a written report describing their purposes and ownership, to do this I’ll talk about what goods and services they offer and to whom they offer these to. Finally I’ll talk about where they operate and which industrial sector of the economy they operate in. Introduction of Tesco Tesco is a massive company with high revenues, it is also a public limited company (PLC) that means it has limited liability, the meaning of limited liability is that the investor cannot lose more than the amount he has invested within the company intern this means that the investor is not personally responsible for the debts of the company so linking this to Tesco it will mean that if Tesco goes into debt the investors are not responsible to pay it off. The main aim of Tesco is to make profit and the reason it will make profit is because it is a well know and established company which has been trading for many years. It has over 2000 stores around the world and it is employing nearly up to 300,000 people which proves that it is a global organisation. ...The Environmental Factors of Cancer Tammie Ewart COM156 Version 7 May 18, 2014 Diane Moore, Faculty Cancer is a disease that is diagnosed almost every day and there are numerous avenues that lead to the development of cancer in the human body. Life styles, diet and nutrition, chemical exposure, exhaust fumes; radiation exposure and hormone replacements to name a few are the leading causes. The majority of these factors is environmental and should be considered when choosing work environments, purchasing products and life styles that can put you at a higher risk. “Cancer is a disease that occurs when cells in the body begin to divide at a faster rate than the body requires. These rapidly dividing cells grow into a lump that is known as a tumor. A tumor can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous).” (Cleveland Clinic, 1995-2014). “Many factors can cause the development of cancer in the body. Some of these factors, such as heredity (family members who have the disease cannot be avoided. Others, such as lifestyle, can be controlled. For example, the use of tobacco is one of the main causes of cancer especially lung cancer. Tobacco use, whether in the form of smoking, chewing, or exposure to second hand smoke (smoking by others), can also cause cancer of the mouth, larynx, esophagus, throat, and many other parts of the body.”(Cleveland Clinic, 1995-2014). ...CAUSES OF LUNG CANCER Lung cancer is a disease in which a primary cancer (the original site where the cancer occurred) develops in the tissue of the lungs. Lung cancer was first described by doctors in the mid 1800's. At the turn of the century, it was still considered a rarity ;that has changed dramatically. What has not changed is the difficultly of detecting lung cancer in its earliest stages when it has the greatest chance of being successfully treated. "Lung cancer is the leading cause of death from cancer among both men and women, with 168,000 new cases in 1992 and 146,00 deaths" ;(Winawer 283). "If you fall into the following categories of people who have been heavy smokers, you have the greatest chance of being diagnosed with lung cancer: a male over 60 ;someone who has smoked one for more packs of cigarettes a day for 20 years or longer ;someone who began to smoke before the age of 20 and is still smoking: a worker in a industrial plant with a high risk material, such as asbestos, who also smoke. Someone who has persistent or violent smokers cough ;someone who does not smoke but is frequently exposed to unnecessary passive smoke" ;(Cooper 114-120). Numerous studies all over the world have shown a link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer, as well as other cancers, with an increase in cigarette smoking followed by an increase of lung cancer. Most of these studies involve the testing of non-smokers and smokers to see how things can affect them differently and...
