How would you define research? I would define research as collecting information on a certain subject by studying, inquiring, and/or investigating all elements of the topic that would indicate that it is accurate. A business research would consist of a systematic investigation on a certain problem in the organization for which one would have to identify and analyze in order to determine the steps to solving the issue.
What is the purpose of business research? The purpose of a business research would of course, solve any issues one is having problems with, but it also provides the manager of the department with the information to make informed decisions when a problem should occur and be able to successfully manage the problem. The research would produce an analysis of information that had either been collected firsthand or is readily available such as company records. The information would be either quantitative which had been gather through structure questions or qualitative which would have been collected from more specific questionnaires such as interviews or observation.
How has the Internet changed the quality and quantity of research? The Internet offers so much information that is readily available and accessible to anyone seeking it which increases the quantity of lower content information rather than the quantity of higher quality content. For example, as has been posted on our school, many websites are providing student with access to purchase answers to our assignments, this decreases the quantity of time the student would spend studying therefore diminishing the quality of the content because the student will not fully understand the topic.
