Accounting Equation Paper “One type of accounting report is a balance sheet, which is based on the accounting equation: Assets = Liabilities + Owners’ Equity. The balance sheet — also called a statement of financial condition — is a “Where do we stand at the end of the period?” type of report. The header of a balance sheet lists the date that it was prepared (The Essentials of Accounting Basics).” The equation should always remain in balance for every accounting transaction. If there is an increased in an asset account, there has to be a corresponding decrease in another assets account or a corresponding increase in a liability or equity account. To make a balance sheet, we should list the assets and come up with a number. Then we need to list the liabilities and equity and come up with a number. If two numbers are equal, then our balance sheet will balance. It is the balance of one’s assets to the liabilities. Owners’ equity contains the owners capital accounts and retained earnings, and is increased by revenues, owners investments, and issuance of stock. It is decreased by expenses, drawings, dividends and treasury stock.

If I have invested cash in a business, we increase assets and increase the owners, equity, we then invested cash and increase assets; the person who invested the cash increases owners’ equity. If I pay for the utilities used in the business, I should decrease assets, and decrease equity; if paid in cash, it will decrease the assets (the cash account). The cash paid was for an expense, therefore later in the accounting cycle, that will be a negative amount on the income statement. If there are any supplies purchased for cash, there will be no changes in assets, no change in liabilities, and no owners’ equity; exchanging one asset for another asset.

...Social hierarchy has existed from the start of time it seems, as in the medieval ages you always have the royals and the peasants. In the United States of America there is a system in place showing the social hierchy which consist Elites at the top, only making up one percent of the population, use the government to extort the rest of the population by using the law in their favor against the middle class, immigrants, and those suffering from poverty. Class Division Research Paper

...Class-divisions are bad for society for many reasons. Some of those reasons are that the class divisions divide people by their ethnicity, income, physical state, and education. Class-divisions can be divided by three groups which can be catigorized by diffrent race, income, and education. These can all be split into smaller classes but those are the three main groups. First is the upper class, second middle class, and third lower class. Upper class is all the rich people. Middle class is the average people. The lower class is all the poor people. The middle class is shrinking every day due to it being harder to support their families. “The percentage of households considered middle class shrunk nationwide between 2000 and 2013” This shows...

Social Class Research Paper

...All human societies have been class-based in some way shape or form. The U.S. population consists of a variety of different income classes but because of this, the leap between the upper class and the lower class is a big one. The main differences such as the financial status of the two, the education of those involved and the social issues that being in each class brings upon the people, shows just how few people can have so much while many other can have so little. Probably the most obvious and the first thing that comes to mind when comparing the two groups is the financial status. At the top of the economic ladder is the upper class, this class makes up about one-to-five percent of the entire American population. The so-called one percent includes the households that earn more than...

Social Class Research Paper

...Why is the social class valued more by the teenagers than their education? The conflict theory does answer some of this but the real explanation is teenagers are dependent on the opinions of others. "Social class, a system of stratification practiced primarily in capitalist societies, ranks groups of people according to their wealth, property, power, and prestige. Children tend to “inherit” the social class of their parents, during the course of a lifetime they can move up or down levels in the strata." (Ferris, Kerry, and Jill Stein) The elite class or “teen royalty” are the Plastics. The Plastics are white and upper class girls that live in mansions, drive luxury cars and wear expensive clothes. Their social superiority is reinforced by their...

American Class System Research Paper

...The American Class System America is a country divided as a result of a class system. When viewed at their most simplistic levels, the system is comprised of three general classes; upper, middle and lower. Although on face value one would assume that these are easily distinguishable, in reality this task may not necessarily be as clear and defined. It is further complicated by the vast geographic and socioeconomic diversities of the country as a whole that may not be reflected in the base statement of who comprise each class. Upper Class The upper class may be the most easily distinguishable among the three primary tiers of the social class system in America. This class is comprised of less than one percent of the total population...

Aristocrat-Class Anti Suffragists Research Paper

...The aristocrat-class anti-suffragists who held the economic interest position were the most influential because they allied with one another as a political force to inhibit the suffragists success. Moreover, they skillfully developed tactics and took the necessary actions to combat the suffragists. These anti-suffragists extended their political circle around the nation by organizing into groups and collecting sympathizers among the immigrant-laboring class, who were nearly shunned by the suffragists. The aristocrat-class were the most influential because they made advancements to be equitable to the suffragists, unlike the ordinary anti-suffragists and the progressive American women. First Class Pet Research

...First Grade Class Pet Research I believe that there are many different pets that would be good for a first grade pet. The main reason for a class pet is so that the students can study the pets. So I think that the following pets would be the best. For example, Hermit crab, Turtle, Frog ect. Some pets are more complicated than others, but most are interesting. Each pets are very affordable and mostly easy to take care of. The hermit crab, a interesting, but simple creature. They live up to 10 years and can grow up to six inches long. Hermit crabs are very communal and can be handled but if they feel threatened they will pinch. Hermit crabs must live in an tropical environment, with at least five gallons of space for every two hermits. The hermits terrarium can be small but must have a top to keep them from escaping and to keep the humidity. Hermit crabs eat pellet food. They usually eat very slowly and at night. Small hermits don’t have big enough claws so you might have to feed them crushed pellets or powered hermit food. I believe that a hermit crab is a little too complicated for a first grade class. Expeccially since hermits don’t like much commotion....

Considering I have never been a very coordinated person the task seemed daunting. However, sitting at a desk all day had done absolutely nothing for my physical fitness. That’s when I had the bright idea to join a gym after months of deliberation. I had the perfect plan. I would run on the treadmill and if I was feeling adventurous lift a few weights here and there. I was sadly, sadly mistaken. My friend had a different plan for me. ...J. Frank and Charles Duryea designed the first American automobile in 1893, and for a long time cars were considered a luxury for the upper class; then Ransom E. Old created the Oldsmobile, making cars available to the middle class. He sold them at $650- about $16,000 today- making them cheap and accessible. Car makers were faced with the dilemma of balancing the quality of the car and its price. They had to figure out a way to make a car with materials they could afford to sell for price that would create enough revenue to keep their business afloat. My Paper

...Imagine being in a class that has 10-15 kids in a classroom. Great, right? Always having the teacher when someone needs him or her, and being able to pay attention easier and the class is never too loud. Now imagine being in a class with 40-60 people in it. It’s always loud and hard to pay attention. Now think, do class sizes really matter? Do smaller classes really work better and achieve more? Are they more efficient? Class sizes are becoming more of a problem but what are we going to do? Limiting class sizes is one way to solve this problem but it’s not he only way. For example in “Classes Are Growing”, the author states “Researches compared the achievements of pupils in kindergarten through grade 3 who were randomly assigned to small classes, of 13 to 17 children, or to regular classes, of 22 to 25 with either a teacher or a teacher with a full time aid.” After preforming this analysis in Tennessee the results conclude that by lowering the class size their performance level was increased by a tenth of a standard, but when this research was repeated in California and Wisconsin didn’t have the same conclusion. The author of “Everyone knows students learn more in smaller classes, or do they” has the palpable reason why this happened. The author explains how there are to many variables to know if the size of the class really matters. “Well, what other reasons are there?” Cutting back on class sizes can lead to budget problems. Splitting 60 kids into 5 classrooms is causing more...
