1) THE PERSECUTION OF THE EARLY CHURCH
In this article, it discusses the early church beginning with Nero burning Rome in A.D. 64 all the way to 211 to when the Caracalla persecution begins. For this purpose, I will do my article on Nero burning Rome. The great fire broke out the night of July 18, 64. Only four of the fourteen regions of Rome remained untouched by the fire. Three had been utterly destroyed, and the other seven reduced to ruins. Almost everybody blamed Nero for starting the fires, which of course to this day cannot be proved. It was believed that he was blamed because of his hatred towards the Christians.

2) HOW DID THE PAX ROMANA HELP THE SPREAD OF THE GOSPEL? Paul was able to travel through out the Mediterranean on his journeys because of the Pax Romana. Travel became so much easier during the Pax Romana because the Romans ran out pirates from the Mediterranean, and build roads in which to travel. These roads allowed the Romans to benefit from increased trade throughout the Empire. All in all, having all these open roads and such made it possible for the spread of the gospel.

3) HERESIES OF THE EARLY CHURCH THAT DEALT WITH MONOPHYSITISM Of all the eastern Christological heresies, monophysitism was the most contentious. Monophysitism was an eastern heresy, which as normally the case Christianity in the west didn't understand, and did not contribute to resolving, in any significant way such as in the Arian conflict as well as Nestorianism. Monophysitism had begun as the antithesis of Nestorianism. Nestorius had been accused of teaching a dual Christ, Eutyches, an archimandrite from Constantinople, presented a profound anti-Nestorian view, at the Council of Ephesus.

...Assignment One – Film Analysis (Mise en scene, Hero) Hero (Zhang Yimou, 2002), is a Chinese martial art movie which was first released in China on 24th Oct 2002. Starring by Jet Li as the nameless protagonist, Tony Leung as Broken Sword and Maggie Cheung as Flying Snow. This film was based on the story of the attempt on assassination of the Qin emperor by Jing Ke. The scene that I chose to carry out my analysis would be the part from 45.07 minutes to 50.07 minutes where it started from Flying Snow’s effort to stop Broken Sword from appearing at the battle until her fight started with Nameless. In hero, from the scene 46.54 minutes until 47.02 minutes, the settings of the scene act as a metaphor. The location shows a wide compound overwhelming Flying Snow which emphasize that she is going to confront the battle with Nameless alone. It give us a feeling that she is tough and determined to face what is after her even she is aware that her enemy is much more powerful and stronger than she is. She firmly walks toward her horse also denote to us that Flying Snow is unafraid to die and is mentally prepared to face what is about to fall upon her. In addition, the scene 47.11 minutes to 47.16 minutes shows that Broken Sword is standing high up on the hill, portraying the feeling that they are growing further apart and have to leave one another’s life in the future. At the same time, the contradiction between their locations show that he was given the chance to stay alive contrasting...

Sleep And Exercise Research

...The Effects of Sleep on Exercise When it comes to good health, many physicians recommend eating healthy, getting adequate exercise and a sufficient amount of sleep. With each person, the recipe for all three varies. Eating a certain amount of calories for a person’s body type and consuming a variety of foods defines eating healthy. Exercise helps to moderate a person’s weight and helps prevent certain diseases and illnesses. However, according to USA today less than 79 percent of Americans exercise the recommended amount of thirty minutes, five days a week (Hellmich, 2013). Sleep also benefits in maintaining the immune system. According to William Dement (1999, p. 269), studies have shown that lack of sleep is correlated with lower levels of cells that help to fight of disease and illnesses. Along with fighting disease, sleep and exercise have other benefits that work with each other. Adequate and high quality sleep aids in daytime functioning, making an individual feel more energetic during the day. Restless sleep, along with an insufficient amount of sleep can cause a person to feel lethargic and unmotivated. Exercise and sleep is a catch twenty-two. Exercise...

Exercise and Multiple Sclerosis

...What are the physical and cognitive benefits of exercise on patients with multiple sclerosis? 1. Bayraktar D, Guclu-Gunduz A, Yazici G, et al. Effects of Ai-Chi on balance, functional mobility, strength and fatigue in patients with multiple sclerosis: a pilot study. NeuroRehabilitation. 2013; 33(3):431-7. This research study was designed to examine the effects of Ai-Chi exercises in a swimming pool on balance and mobility in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Poor balance and decreased mobility is a common issue with MS, and the decline often limits daily activities. Researchers recruited twenty-three females affected by MS, and divided them into two groups. The exercise group performed Ai-Chi exercises for a 60 minute session twice a week for eight weeks. The control group did a home exercise program that only involved abdominal breathing and active range of motion exercises. Upon conclusion of the program, subjects were tested on static balance, functional mobility, fatigue, and muscle strength. The exercise group showed significant improvements across all measures, but the control group did not. This shows that the aquatic exercise program is a viable option to combat the negative effects of MS. A strength of this study was the use of aquatic therapy. The researchers stated that although this therapy is widely used, more studies need to be performed to gain more knowledge. Recording results on patients is concrete evidence that these programs work. This study was published...

Research Critique

...Research Critique of “Adherence to Walking or Stretching, and Risk of Preeclampsia in Sedentary Pregnant Women” Introduction This paper is to critique a study of adherence to walking or stretching during pregnancy in high-risk women who were sedentary and had previously experienced preeclampsia. The purpose of the study was to compare a walking exercise to a stretching exercise program during pregnancy in high-risk women who were sedentary and had previous history of preeclampsia. This five-year study investigated the effects of walking or stretching on the incidence of preeclampsia and reports on adherence to the intervention and on the secondary outcomes of changes in resting heart rate (HR), resting blood pressure and weight gain (Yeo, 2009). Statement of the Problem The problem was clearly stated and was a sufficient researchable problem. The researcher does a good job of stating why the problem is important, but there was no mention of the number of people who are affected by preeclampsia and complications of the disease itself. Yeo (2009) identifies the following research question for this study as: 1. Will previously sedentary pregnant women adhere to an exercise program for 40 minutes a day 5 times a week in the latter half of pregnancy (Yeo, 2009)? 2. Is there a difference in adherence to a walking program or a stretching exercise program (Yeo, 2009)? 3. How does adherence to walking or stretching change with the advance of pregnancy (Yeo, 2009)...

Why Is Too Much Running Bad For The Body

...This study proves that running, no matter how much, actually does add years to the human life, even if a person smokes or had cancer. There is also evidence that running actually reduces the risk of cancer by 1% (Stories 1). And while this may not seem like much, running also has an emotional connection to cancer. In a survey done by Runner’s World, 72% of the respondents said that they had been in a race that raised money for cancer research. Through the course of their running career, the average respondent said that they had raised around $887 for cancer research. My Own Business

...why my website will succeed throughout product life-cycle. My Own Business: “Yoga for Anyone” Deciding upon a business is not something I did not go into lightly or taken on a dare. I gave it much thought, would research heavily through both the use of secondary and primary research marketing methods, and then send through the rigorous trials and tribulations of product and / or service life cycle. Main thing I understood it is not as simple as choosing something I thought in terms of…if I have a passion for it, everyone should share in my passion, and it is the latest and greatest craze; therefore, I must “jump on the bandwagon” and have one as well. Although, both of these ideas have some credence in marketing, because I had to believe in what I did and be marketable, respectively, it is not as glib or easy as the aforementioned old adages imply. I took all of this into consideration when I chose a Yoga website as my new business venture. Initially, I researched what was something that could offer with the greatest impact across several demographics, regardless of age, religion, gender, or income-bracket. This is where the health arena came into fruition, because everyone should do some type of exercise to stay in shape. Then, after secondary research into other websites similar to...

Chronic Pain

...Therapeutic Exercise Prescription Concepts Applied to Patients Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia Pain is defined as an “unpleasant feeling, conveyed to the brain by sensory neurons” (Medical Dictionary, 2013). Pain is a subjective interpretation, which describes location, intensity and nature of sensory information resulted from noxious stimulation of nerve endings. The emotional response and other various conscious or unconscious responses add to the concept of pain. Acute pain usually results from tissue damage and it usually ends once the injury is healed. Chronic pain is a long term condition related to a persistent or degenerative disease or it doesn’t have an identifiable cause. Although there are different opinions about when a patient can be declared as suffering from chronic pain (after six months or twelve months), the presence of such sensation after the healing period usually leads to this diagnosis. One of the diseases with a generalized chronic pain as a symptom, which continues to generate many debates in the medical world, is fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia, a disorder that affects the overall system and has an effect of generalized chronic pain, will be delineated in this paper, including its causes, manifestation, and part of the process of managing this disease in which a kinesiologist would have a central role. Fibromyalgia, estimated to affect 4% of the population, is a compilation of symptoms accompanying pain, which include fatigue, stiffness and sleep disturbance...

Bottle Water

...Bottled Water Market Penetration Name Institution Bottled Water Market Penetration Introduction The demand for bottles water has grown tremendously owing to its increased popularity. The industry has been growing at an average rate of 20% per year (Gleick, 2010, p. 15). Demand has grown over 500% in the last decade and a half. In the United States there is a demand of 79 liters of bottles water per person in a year, which has resulted in the sale of up to 30 billion in the sale of the product (Gleick, 2010, p. 17). This has been driven by increased population and the decreased quality of water supplies from the public mains. People have feared for their health and thus have opted for bottles water that is more purified and fresh. The consumption of bottled water in the United States fell in 2008 to 30 billion bottles compared to 2007 (Clarke et al, 2009, p. 28). Bottles water faces stiff competition from other beverages such as sodas. It is thus important that companies to reposition the product in order to get back to the positive growth trend. Repositioned Target Market The market for bottled water is quite large as water is a commodity that is essential to life. Bottled water may face competition from soft drinks and supplies from local authorities. Manufacturers of the product (bottled water) have used various methods in segmenting the market and obtaining potential targets. For instance, coca cola the manufacturer of Dasani, and Nestle have targeted...
