“The Crucible” Argument Essay
Does accusing the people around you to be arrested and hanged to get whatever you want be considered as selfish and wicked? In “The Crucible” by Author Miller, Abigail Williams is a vicious and vindictive person who used the witchcraft hysteria around the town of Salem in 1692. Abigail Williams is a 17 year old orphan who is strikingly beautiful but she is a liar and a fake. She saw an opportunity to seek vengeance upon John’s wife for kicking her out of their house and wanting to take her place in John’s bed. Although some may say otherwise and beg to differ on that because she was young, taken advantage of, immature, and also confused.
Although in “The Crucible”, Abigail’s words, actions, and decision making legitimately shows that she does not care about who she hurts in the process to get what she wants. According to Abigail she says”… I will come to you in the black of some terrible night and I will bring a pointy reckoning that will shudder you…” (1244). This quote here has explains that, if any of the girls betrays her on what she has said and reveals that they had been dancing in the woods and also she drank a charm to kill Goody Proctor, she would kill them like the Indians had killed both of her parents.
Abigail is a manipulative person. She is a manipulative person she tried to frame Goody Proctor for sending her spirit and stabbing a needle in her stomach two inches deep. In The Crucible, Mary Warren was sewing a poppet and stuck the needle in the poppet for safe keeping. On page 1282 Mary Warren says “… I made it in the court, sir, and-gave it to Goody Proctor tonight… why, I meant no harm by it…”. “Ask Abby, Abby sat next to me when I made it” (1283). Mary Warren explains she meant no harm by it and Abigail had stabbed herself to arrest and charge

Professional Plan

...Professional Plan Natasha Lopez Bryant & Stratton College COMM115: Information Literacy & Research Mr. Titus February 19, 2016 Professional Plan Growing up I have always said that I wanted to be a superhero, I always wanted to help ours. Therefore, when I started looking into the types of careers I wanted to be in the medical field seemed like the perfect choice for me. Choosing a career in the medical field would give me the opportunity to help others. Now being of age and knowing what a real superhero is and those who make a difference in this world I feel I’ve made the right choice. The three careers in this field that I chose to explore further are medical administrative assistant, clinical medical assistant, and medical coding and billing. I’ve done some research and I would like to take this time to request for reimbursement for my continued education, since our company has this program. Medical Administrative Assistant A medical administrative assistant is a skilled profession that is best suited to those with field-related knowledge developed through formal training. They “must be excellent communicators and use impeccable spelling and grammar when completing professional documents or communicating in writing” (Medical Assistant Careers [MAC], 2016, Duties, Training, Outlook section, para. 1). In addition, medical administrative assistants must be highly proficient in the use of computers and common applications like word processing and spreadsheets...

Annotated Bibliography

...Kiran Raju Professor Hays RHET 105 February 28, 2016 An Annotated Bibliography: “The benefits of a college degree does not outweigh the cost of it” Abel, Jaison R., and Richard Deitz. "Do The Benefits Of College Still Outweigh The Costs?." Current Issues In Economics & Finance 20.3 (2014): 1-12. Academic Search Complete. Web. 6 Mar. 2016. People who graduated with a college degree still questions whether college was a good investment for them. “Do the Benefits of College Still Outweigh the Costs?” addresses how students who graduated with a college degree are still unemployed and in debt. Furthermore, students have paid more to attend college and earning less upon graduation. This academic journal compares both the pros and cons of attending college. It contains graphs and illustrations that contribute more data about increasing tuition and how it affects your decision about whether to attend college. “The total costs to attend a 4-year college outweighs some people’s home value.” I thought this quote summarizes the academic journal very briefly. “Do the Benefits of College Still Outweigh the Costs?” is a scholarly source and an academic journal. The data in it is really reliable for my research paper. It contains graphs and illustrations which could be used to make conclusions. This academic journal is more biased towards the people who believe that the benefits of college do not outweigh the costs. I could potentially use this source to support my thesis more...

Morals and Ethics

...Rasmussen College Author Note This paper is being submitted on July 14, 2016, for Thomas Santangelo’s B406 Business Law and Ethical Behavior course. Morals and Ethics in Society Morals and ethics in society play major roles in our lives and our work environments and I am more than happy to write this research paper to help explain the similarities and its key differences. And this research paper will also include where both morals and ethics derived from and what can cause both of these. How can ethics or morals affect the work atmosphere and even outside of work. And with ethics and morals the key difference is that ethics comes from the social system and can be an external factor, while morals can be derived from the individual and is an internal factor. Ethics can be linked back to the Greek word “ethos” (Diffen, 2016) meaning “character”. And according to Merriam-Webster the full definition of ethos “The distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs of a person, group or institution”. (Merriam-Webster, 2016) Ethical behavior can be motivated by self-interest, or some intuitive sense of right and wrong and this can stem from our social system which I briefly describe in the first paragraph is an external factor. And consequently there is no clear-cut blueprint of ethics that you can use to project your business’ reputation and well-being of your employees and customers (Small Business, 2016) With my ethics project I’m writing about...

Juvenile

...Assignment 1 Identify the topic you selected and explain two reasons for using it and include thesis statement: Juveniles and the justice system is the topic chosen for my research paper. According to the FBI “Juveniles (< 18 years) were arrested for murder, 2,198 for forcible rape, and 35,001 for aggravated assault,” these are all actions that sound horrible and reap even more horrible consequences. “When juvenile cases get transferred to adult criminal court through a process called a ‘waiver’—when a judge waives the protections that juvenile court provides” (Kathleen Michon, 2016). Usually, juvenile cases that are subject to waiver involve more serious crimes, or minors who have been in trouble before. Ever since more states have begun trying juveniles as adults in certain situations, the crime rate among juveniles has dropped significantly. Thesis statement: The frequency of juveniles committing horrendous crimes has been on a steady rise for the past couple of decades and even though fewer varieties of punishments, juveniles should be tried as an adult because it would deter and minimize crimes committed by minors and brings justice to the victims. Describe 3 major characteristics of your audience: My intended audience will include my professor and classmates, lawmakers, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, and parents. I will try to persuade readers to agree with my stand on juveniles and violent crimes and why I feel so strongly that juveniles should be tried as an adult...

...ASSESSMENT TOOLS 1 Assessment Tools Paper Liberty University EDUC 307 June 1, 2016 Abstract The beauty in teaching is watching the brains of your scholars grow with knowledge. As educators we frequently use various tools to assess the gains that our scholars make. ...Research Paper Your name: Matthew Turner Your Capella email address: mturner86@capellauniversity.edu The course number: IT3006 Instructor name: Professor Julie Krummen Date submitted: 2/26/16 Title of your paper: PIPA & SOPA Introduction In this paper, the topics to be discussed are what is PIPA and SOPA, prior related acts or laws, impacts on the first and fourth amendment, impacts on e-commence, supporters, and oppositions. This topic may seem old, but it could always come back later. Back in 2011 and 2012, there was a big fight between Congress and the Internet sites. This fight was over PIPA and SOPA which people associated it with censoring the Internet. However, it was much more than just censoring the Internet. It violated not one, but two amendments that are granted to every U.S. citizen. It also had the potential to hurt e-commence. As Wikipedia said on one of it’s blackout pages in 2012 “Imagine a world without free knowledge” and that is exactly what these sites were trying to protect. Yes, they may have won for now, but there is always a chance these acts could show up again. What is PIPA? PIPA is short for PROTECT IP Act or Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act. This bill was introduced to the Senate on May 12, 2011 (U.S. Senate, 2011). This act would “enhance enforcement against rogue websites operated and registered overseas” (U.S. Senate, 2011). Once the Attorney General gets a court...
