...Ansel Easton Adams (famous western photographer) was born on February the 20th of 1902 in San Francisco, CA near the Golden Gate Bridge. He received his first camera (Kodak Brownie Box camera) in 1916 when he was about 14 years of age. He wanted to be a pianist but he gave up his piano and decided to be a photographer. His first professional photograph was Monolith, the Face of Half Dome (1927). Adams married Virginia Best, the daughter of an artist who inherited the studio to Virginia after he died in 1935.
