The death of Meriwether Lewis will forever be a mystery… until now. The abrupt death of Lewis was, indeed, a suicide. The suicide was caused by an illness. Meriwether Lewis was an explorer and the Leader of the Corps of Discovery. After he and Clark returned from the expedition with the Corps of Discovery and they were treated like national heroes. Wherever they went, there were parties for them. Plus, they were given very good jobs; Lewis was given the job of Governor of the Upper Louisiana Territory by President Jefferson. Lewis wasn’t so quick to start his new job, for he had many things that were stopping him, including the chance he may have proposed to a woman (if he did, the woman declined, because he never married), he had to publicate journals, he visited people, and he may have attended Aaron Burr’s treason trial. The job was not for him because he was an outdoorsman. On top of that, Secretary Banes was incredibly jealous of Lewis. Lewis was having trouble adjusting, and often went to drinking to solve that problem. It was also said by friends and family that there was a high chance of him having depression. …show more content…

While on the Natchez Trace, Major James Neelly had lost a couple of horses, so Lewis and two servants went ahead to an inn. On October 11th, Lewis dies from two self-inflicted gunshot

Biography

...different from a middle school-level biography or a high school or college-level biography. However, each biography will include the basic details. The first information you should gather in your research will include biographical details and facts. You must use a trustworthy resource to ensure that your information is accurate. Basic details include: * Date and place of birth and death * Family information * Lifetime accomplishments * Major events of life * Effects/impact on society, historical significance While this information is necessary to your project, these dry facts, on their own, don't really make a very good biography. Once you've found these basics, you'll want to dig a little deeper. You choose a certain person because you think he or she is interesting, so you certainly don't want to burden your paper with an inventory of boring facts. Your goal is to impress your reader! You'll want to start off with great first sentence. It's a good idea to begin with a really interesting statement, a little known fact, or really intriguing event. You should avoid starting out with a standard but boring line like: "Meriwether Lewis was born in Virginia in 1774." Instead, try starting with something like this: "Late one afternoon in October, 1809, Meriwether Lewis arrived at a small log cabin nestled deep in the Tennessee Mountains. By sunrise on the following day, he was dead, having suffered gunshot wounds to the head and chest. You'll have to make...

A review of cyclical instability over the last two centuries places the 2008–2009 recession in the monetary-disorder tradition, which focuses on the monetary instability created by central banks rather than on a boom-bust cycle in inancial markets. Robert L. Hetzel is Senior Economist and Research Advisor in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, where he participates in debates over monetary policy and prepares the bank’s president for meetings of the Federal Open Market Committee. Dr. Hetzel’s research on monetary policy and the history of central banking has appeared in publications such as the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking; the Journal of Monetary Economics; the Monetary and Economics Studies series of the Bank of Japan; and the CarnegieRochester Conference Series. His writings provided one of the catalysts for the congressional hearings and Treasury studies that led to the issuance of Treasury Inlation Protected Securities (TIPS). Dr. Hetzel has given...
