philosopher named Thomas Nagel states that “our experiences limit our imagination”. He believes that with limited experiences as our resources for life, our capacity for imagination and the ability to relate is limited as well. Nagel believes that only bats know what it is like to be a bat. This is also applicable to humans and our subjective experiences and perceptions. When asked if you can know what it’s like to be another person, I believe Thomas Nagel would say that we can know what it is to be a person but we cannot know what it is to be another person.
