Over the next few days we'll rate Vandymania's top five offensive and defensive players. Today we'll take a look at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native Kyle Shurmur.
Shurmur took control of the starting quarterback job as a true freshman in 2015. He helped pull the 'Dores to victory in his first two conference starts against Missouri and Kentucky. Achieving career highs in the season finale against Tennessee with 209 yards passing and three touchdown passes. There was one interception that was hardly his fault as his intended target slipped and fell on the field.
A little bit of trickery went a long way as this score turned out to be critical in the second conference win over Kentucky.
