...Research Paper Number of Third Year Students Having a Grade of 79 and Below (focusing on 2nd Grading; pertaining all subjects) Ritchie Alquisola Perny Austria Mirasol Abrenica Niña Mae Acabal Badian National High School Badian, Cebu S.Y. 2012-2013 Rowena Espinosa Statistics Teacher INTRODUCTION This research about the “Number of third Year Students Having a Grade of 79 and Below” aims to come up a summary of a list of third year students who received a grade of 79 and below during their second grading period, pertaining all subjects. The researchers interviewed each student from six (6) different sections out of nine (9) sections in third year. This represents 67% out of 100%. The six (6) sections were Archimedes, Aristotle, Einstein, Euclid, Kepler, and Newton. The three (3) sections which were not interviewed were Plato, Pythagoras, and Socrates. Results of the study showed that out of 479 third year students, 179 or 37% of these received a grade of 79 and below during their second grading period. To make this research valid, researchers also included the “Slovine’s Formula”, construction of “Frequency Distribution Table”, “Graphical Display of Data”, and the name of the students which were interviewed. ...Common Difficulties Encountered by High School Students And their Coping Mechanism MR. RONNIE G. CAINGLET A research paper submitted to the New Era University research center Hanz Lumba Christine Keith Tercias Radnan Oneza Herminia Salamat Donna Valenzuela Shaira Martinez Marko Capili March 2013 IV-LEVI I. Background of the Study Students all over the world face a number of problems which dishearten them. There are so many issues they have to deal with- study, time, money, relationships, job hopes, and more. Parent’s previous experience and education does not always equip them in dealing with such pressures. Many students will not admit their problems due to various reasons and this may eventually hamper a student’s psyche. In Metro Manila, the most common problem a student encounter is their difficulty with certain academic subjects. Nowadays, most schools have five major subjects- Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, English, and Filipino. Although different opinions are made regarding these subjects, it is evident that certain factors affect the level of difficulty of the said subjects. One is the teaching method of the teachers. It is possible that the techniques, including the materials such as the visual aids or presentations used by the teachers, are not effective. Second is the student’s own knowledge and capability. Some are gifted with critical thinking and good analysis which make them perfect for subjects’ Math and Science; while others...

...CONTY CARL CUNANAN BSED 1-G MAPEH EL PRESIDENTEample Reaction Paper Note: This may be a bit short, but you get the idea - talk about common concepts, show that you understand and can ANALYZE the readings, offer critiques, and use specifics. Citations are also encouraged. Don't just recap the readings. The topics covered this week are interesting in that they have great implications for democratic theory. Issue voting would indicate an attentive public, while retrospective voting could render campaign promises meaningless. The enterprise of assessing the determinants of vote choice is an extremely complicated one that suffers from several common difficulties. The first is the availability of data. Panel studies and surveys are expensive and time consuming, and therefore not consistently performed. This hodge-podge of available data forces researchers to draw broad conclusions from data covering limited periods of time. For example, Marcus and Converse used data from two elections. The Kiinder and Abelson piece discussed by Asher found that candidate assessment fell along two separate dimensions – competence and integrity, yet the data was drawn during the Carter administration. Carter may be a uniquely extreme example; an individual especially strong on integrity and weak on competence. Similarly, CCMS drew conclusions about issue salience during a particularly non-contentious time period. Many of these studies may be reporting substantially...

...3Chapter 3 Research Methodology This chapter presents the research methodology which includes the research design, methods and procedures used in conducting the study. It also includes the subject respondents, research instrument, research environment or locale of the study and analysis of the data gathered. Research Design Descriptive research is used in the study and defined as a description, recording, analysis and interpretation of the presented data. This type of research is the most commonly used and the basic reason for carrying out descriptive research is to identify the cause of something that is happening (DJS Research Ltd, 2010). Descriptive research can be either quantitative or qualitative. It can involve collections of quantitative information that can be tabulated along a continuum in numerical form, such as scores on a test or the number of times a person chooses to use a-certain feature of a multimedia program, or it can describe categories of information such as gender or patterns of interaction when using technology in a group situation. Descriptive research involves gathering data that describe events and then organizes, tabulates, depicts, and describes the data collection (Glass & Hopkins, 1984). The process of descriptive research goes beyond mere gathering and tabulation of the information and data. It involves interpretation of the significance of what is described. Descriptive research may also be defines as a process of gathering, analyzing...

...I. INTRODUCTION “Education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world” - Nelson Mandela Education Psychology is a branch of psychology that deals application of psychology to teaching and learning and as science it depends upon research for guidance and direction in promoting effective and responsible teaching that the teachers can use, it enhances the procedure of effective teaching, and it also gives a scientific approach for teaching in different knowledge, skills and values. [1] One of the purpose/ function of Education Psychology is to guides the teacher in understanding the characteristics of his/her learners in each stage of their development. The teacher/instructor must have a basic knowledge of growth development to be able to design an appropriate learning material according to the student’s development stage. In general, Educational psychology is important not only in the filed of psychology but also in the field of education. As a partial fulfillment in one of our major subjects, which is PSY05 (Educational Psychology) we are required to conduct a classroom observation in the Elementary or High School setting. This said requirement aims to make connections between theories and practices that we discussing in the said subject. Francisco G. Nepomuceno Memorial High School, the school that we chose of our group for our observation. FGNHMS or commonly known as City High Pandan is a public secondary...

...I. INTRODUCTION The role of curriculum in educating the students is a dynamic process that seeks to cope with the changes in our society. Understanding the traditional and emerging concepts of curriculum as well as the factors that affect its development will guide the educators to respond to the needs of the learners. In planning, constructing and evaluating a curriculum, educators and curriculum practitioners may use one or more approaches. The contrasting approaches that are generally used in curriculum development are Technical/Scientific Approach and Non-technical/Non-scientific Approach. In scrutinizing these approaches, the advantages and disadvantages are revealed and the differences they generate in creating a curriculum. According to Bago (2008), information about personal and collective commitments to a particular viewpoint and the values considered important by individuals, school, and society are exposed when examining an approach. Curriculum can also be designed based on a particular context. It solely depends upon the elements namely: contemplation of aims, projected learning outcomes, syllabus, learning and teaching methods, and assessment. There are three common patterns to design a curriculum: through subject – centered, experience – centered, and problem – centered. These are incorporated into the curriculum by looking into its possible effects to the certain elements mentioned above. A design that addresses to the conceptual framework of science education...

The learners have also discovered that cells divide to produce new cells by mitosis and meiosis. They have understood that meiosis is an early step in sexual reproduction that leads to variation. Students have been introduced to genetics to be able to appreciate evolutionary differences among species. Learners have also found out that biodiversity is the collective variety of species living in an ecosystem, and by studying the ecosystem; they have come across the various cycling of materials and energy transformation. DRAFT April 29, 2014 All modules in Grade 9 Unit 1-Living Things and Their Environment present student-centered activities that will allow the learners to discover and develop concepts that they may consider useful to their everyday life. At the end of each lesson, key concepts are provided for the students to grasp ideas and information that they will remember even after they have left school. Instructional activities are designed to build up the students’ knowledge, understanding, skills, and ability to transfer...
