Research Proposal Project

...* Research Proposal Project Research Management Dilemma and Research Question The management dilemma in this ABC Shirt Corporation case is that there seems to be some change in sleeve preference in the western region. Management is concerned that the shift in consumer preferences may continue and intensify if news of a fresh West Nile Virus outbreak comes during the next summer season and needs to determine if they should include a “West Nile Virus” feature to the coming summer marketing campaign. Hypothesis Based on the management dilemma described above, a relational hypothesis is determined to be the most suitable type of hypothesis for this research study among proposition, descriptive hypotheses, and relational hypotheses. The hypothesis is defined as “Consumers in the western region prefer long sleeve shirts over short sleeve due to people’s concerns on the West Nile Virus outbreak in the region.” Define Variables The independent variable in the hypotheses is West Nile Virus outbreak news, and the dependent variable is increased demand/preference of long sleeve shirts. Research Design To execute the research and examine the hypotheses defined above, a survey research method is determined to be the most suitable method. The survey research method is a communication-based research method that allows researchers to learn much about people’s options and attitudes toward things happening around them. Since the purpose of this research is to examine the cause of...

Stages of the Research Project

...Week 3 Individual: Stages of the research Project RES/351 Word of Mouth is considered a powerful marketing device. The impact of consumers discussing products and services with other potential clients can be both beneficial or negative depending upon the view of the customer. Word of mouth referrals have long been considered a vital aspect of marketing but in the new digital age this referral system is drawn into question. One of the major criticisms of the word of Mouth today is that it is less influential due to globalization. The internet provides a new voice for consumers but is this voice as powerful as traditional word of mouth? This new field of research is slowly being explored. Due to the age of the internet, there are limited studies in this area. One of the most prominent studies was performed by Microsoft and Keller Fay Group. The study “Talk Track” was intended to measure the impact of the word of mouth both traditional and nontraditional forms. The research collected 24,724 interviews from participants ages 18-54 (Microsoft; Keller Fay Group, 2011). The study was self-reported with the participants using diaries to keep track of conversations concerning brands. Participants also completed online surveys that further detailed the word of mouth conversations. The independent variable in this experiment was the word of mouth, and the dependent variable was impact of the word of mouth on consumer brand values. The sample sizes of participants were: Adult Respondents...

Business Research Project

...Business Research Project: Riordan Manufacturing QNT/561 Abstract Riordan Manufacturing is subsidiary of Riordan Industries, Inc., which is a leading global manufacturer of plastic containers, parts, and electrical fans (Apollo Group Inc., 2013). The company attempts to maintain adequate quantities of completed electrical fan units in their stock in order to meet the customer demand, however, its on-time deliveries average only 93% due to an insufficient number of completed fan units. Riordan stocks all the necessary raw materials needed to assemble the electrical fans readily available in their manufacturing plant except for the fan motors, which are fulfilled by an outside supplier. Therefore, Riordan Management is asking why meeting the demand is inconsistent with the current fan motor supplier as manifested by their 93% on-time delivery and claim the company's on-time delivery to increase with new a supplier. In this business research project, Team C will investigate and examine the validity of Riordan Management's claim. Business Research Project

...Research questions and problems The key for you at the moment is to find your topic and once you have identified the topic (choose sth you’re interested in) then it is about making your research topic accessible, What you do is you define a research problem which is an overall problem and you break it down in a serious of questions, so one you have identified your research problem that can be phrased as an overall questions. EXAMPLES: So you have got a research problem which is an overall question for instance, dis TQM worked well for small businesses?. Then you need to break down into a serious of questions, which you need to address to ansewer the overall question. So you need from an overall research question to move on to specific research question. So what you do is you have got this research problem and you devide it into a serious of small steps which you then follow through one by one. So an overall question is broken down into smaller questions (specific questions), which you can then use to analyse your research problem. THAT’S THE IDEA !! * Bad overall research questions: * what types of strategic alliances exist ?would be a very good an overall research question. This is not a good question because you can look it up plus the answer is a knowledge question. It’s just sth which you can easily find out in the business dictionary and that’s it ! So that would not be a research problem because it’s well known , it’s in the text book. As a...

This paper will define and identify the business research, purpose of the study, problems under investigation, methods of data collection, and the ending result. The article this synopsis is based on is “On the Validity of Price Knowledge Measurements via self-assessment scales: two studies in retail” (Eberhardt, Kenning, & Schneider, 2009, p. 1). Business research is defined “as a systematic and organized effort to investigate a specific problem encountered in a work setting that needs a solution” (Sekaran, 2003, p. 5). The business research used in respect to price knowledge measurement includes addressing self-assessment versus percentage absolute deviation (PAD), and the retail branch of food versus clothes. The problem under investigation is determining the validity of scales used to measure consumer price knowledge used in marketing to influence market price and profit (Eberhardt et al., 2009, p. 1). Previous research is outdated and does not consider important factors such as brand power, or demographics, and was performed from the viewpoint of a researcher and not the consumer (Eberhardt et al., 2009, p. 2). The researchers performed separate studies in food and clothing retail in Germany...
