...INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE The internal combustion engine is an engine in which the combustion of a fuel (normally a fossil fuel) occurs with an oxidizer (usually air) in a combustion chamber that is an integral part of the working fluid flow circuit. In an internal combustion engine (ICE) the expansion of the high-temperature and high-pressure gases produced by combustion apply direct force to some component of the engine. The force is applied typically to pistons, turbine blades, or a nozzle. This force moves the component over a distance, transforming chemical energy into useful mechanical energy. The first commercially successful internal combustion engine was created by Étienne Lenoir. The term internal combustion engine usually refers to an engine in which combustion is intermittent, such as the more familiar four-stroke and two-stroke piston engines, along with variants, such as the six-stroke piston engine and the Wankel rotary engine. A second class of internal combustion engines use continuous combustion: gas turbines, jet engines and most rocket engines, each of which are internal combustion engines on the same principle as previously described. The ICE is quite different from external combustion engines, such as steam or Stirling engines, in which the energy is delivered to a working fluid not consisting of, mixed with, or contaminated by combustion products. Working fluids can be air, hot water, pressurized water or even liquid sodium, heated in some kind of boiler...

...What if? (Remart Dumlao) If only I could turn back the time, the time that my family is still complete; laughing, sharing, helping each other. I will do all graceful things that I haven’t done before. My life could have been much happier and more colorful as it is now. Maybe I don’t have regrets why I haven’t tried to do things that somehow will make me happy and satisfied. There are so many what ifs that are running on and keep taunting on my mind. What if I did this? What if I’ve done that? What if? I can still remember my graduation day, where the wall was my companion. No one in the family bothered to waste even a single minute. I saw my classmate and her mother who were then very happy having their snacks. They kept on laughing and I could see in their eyes that they are very much contented being together, as if they do not have any problem and the world smiles at them as if they’re only soul in the world that would be happy. Drop of tears suddenly fell down my face from the windows of my soul. Then, someone tapped my shoulder and whispered saying “I’m available balong to be your mother”. I’m so thankful for that living angel, which is my adviser. I continued watching my classmate and his mother when suddenly; I paused and had a little realization. What if my mother and I were doing that? Could we get happier than them? Will they also envy us? This scenario created the question that kept on dashing my mind, which I could not escape and make self-pity. As I went through...

...INCREASING THE ACCESSIBILITY OF DOCTORAL LEVEL RESEARCHES Sona Ahuja Assistant Professor Faculty of Education, Dayalbagh Educational Institute Deemed University, Agra Abstract Numerous researches are conducted at different levels. Some of these are funded and some are degree oriented researches. Conducting a research is no less than a Herculean task at Doctoral level. Only few bright researchers get financial support through JRF or others. So, there arise number of problems in terms of investment of time, energy, money, etc. which are faced by researcher. Despite of all this, a researcher carries out research keeping in mind all its intricacies to avoid any glitch at later stage. The concern arises when results of such a research is not disseminated adequately. Many outcomes of research are known to just few and are not accessible to others. Rest are not even aware of such researches. The present study confers to make the researches conducted at doctoral level easily accessible by widespread dissemination. Keywords: Doctoral Level Researches, Accessibility of Ph.D. Findings, Dissemination of Researches INTRODUCTION Research is an endeavour to discover, develop and verify knowledge and is considered to be a stepping-stone for any kind of progress as it exposes the hidden truth of any event of natural phenomena or human activity. Research brings advancement in the existing knowledge, generates new knowledge and leads to new products...

...There is No Hope of Doing Perfect Research To agree with the statement “There is no hope of doing perfect research” (Griffith, 1998, p97) is to accept that humanity is doomed. There are two extreme phrases used in this context which are the words “perfect” and “no hope” that can incite argument among scholars, scientists, writers, academe people and even ordinary folks. Perfect is being entirely without fault or defect (Merriam-webster.com). Referring to research as perfect reflects the results of the human activity. In the broadest sense of the word, the definition of research includes any gathering of data, information and facts for the advancement of knowledge (Experiment-resources.com). However, human nature is defined as an ordinary human behavior, esp. considered as less than perfect (thefreedictionary.com). Now to relate perfect to humanity is a paradox. If humanity can not be equated to perfection then his actions that includes research is far from perfection as well. Another superlative or extreme description used in the statement is the “no hope” phrase. “No hope” otherwise known as “hopeless” is defined as having no possibility of solution; impossible (thefreedictionary.com). The bluntness of the statement reveals a bleak vision. To agree with the statement “There is no hope of doing perfect research” is to accept that humanity is doomed. Having no hope for perfect research also means that there is absolutely nothing in the past, present and future that can be...
