The piece I decided to review is “A Breathtaking Piano Piece,” by Jervy Hou. At first glance of it’s title, I knew it would be “breathtaking,” and it really did meet my standards. It truly felt like I was in one of those typical romance and happy ending movies or musicals. I felt free as I closed my eyes and made some of the everyday stress go away. Incidentally, this piece is very complex in the fact that it has many sections of music and you are able to hear distinct themes between each of those sections. It mostly followed an A-B-A-C-A pattern. I think the composer was trying to convey a sense of wonder and imagination.
