Project 1 In this CNN article, Stephen Collinson writes about Donald Trump’s inauguration speech and everything that happens before and after. Stephen first talks about the speech and how “Trump vowed to drain power from Washington’s elites and put “America first””. He then talks about how Trump “placed his left hand on a family bible and another that belonged to Abraham Lincoln and promised to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution.”. The rhetor talks about Trumps deliberative discourse to “bring back” American jobs, borders, wealth and dreams of the American people. Trumps logos is “You will never be ignored again” also what Stephen Collinson thinks is important enough to make a header. He talks about the general issue that Trump see’s; the mothers and children trapped in poverty and the “rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones”. He proceeds to …show more content…
Michael Winship wrote about Trumps Inauguration and how his hollow rhetoric collides with reality. They wrote about the contrast between his promises to America’s poor and forgotten. Also “the greed of the new president and his circle of fat cat appointees”, they think that his “fat cats” are horrible. The go on talking about The inaugural address and how it appealed to his core audience, but how the speech was “hollow’ when compared to what Trump usually does. The rhetor talks about how Trumps campaign manager now White House counselor, “actually had argued that what he says should not be taken literally” and she even told CNN “you always want to go with what’s come out of his mouth rather that look at what’s in his heart.”. They also address Trumps executive orders and how he screwed the people he said he would help with executive orders that repeal the Affordable Care Act.
