In the article “Why Kids Can’t Write” the author Dana Goldstein uses ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade her audience that there is a problem with the proficiency of writing in kids. From the beginning, the author establishes authority and credibility by writing for the New York Times. The New York Times is a well established newspaper/ article corporation which has multiple levels of review before anything is published.
