Debbonnaire Kovacs is a lady of curiosity. Having written over 700 articles and 22 books, the Poetry and Arts Editor of the Adventist Today Magazine took on a new story, delving into a form of worship foreign to her, and she assumes, her readers. This feature tells about how an expected friendship leads to music partners and new forms of expression for God. As Kovac writes her piece, the audience is able to see her enthusiasm and interest. Similarly, Lee Givhan and Delon Lawrence, who the story is about, express the same joy as she does. Their tones and moods match, even though they come from completely different backgrounds. Her curiosity of the topic is displayed in her style of writing, which match the curiosity journey of the people she’s writing about. Students in our classroom experienced the same thing, being able to connect with her over just a simple sentence. Later in her article, when Givhan was going through a difficult time in life, she showed her support and understanding in her way of mentioning his troubles.
