...room for a few weeks at The Cabin. Our summers, which were always very busy, would never be complete without a visit to The Cabin. Summer brought plenty of satisfactory memories for me, but no memories quite as satisfactory as those made at The Cabin. Since I was just a year old, vacationing at The Cabin has been part of my every summer routine. When I was still young, I remember being too small or too young to do some of the things that the older cousins got to do. As I got older, though, I remember finally being big enough to swim in the lake without a life jacket, get my turn on the four wheeler, and ride by myself on the ancient rope swing. These traditional activities were rites of passage for me, to prove my love and loyalty to The Cabin. Was I willing to get filthy from head to toe in the mud? Was I able to go the highest on the rope swing? Was I tough enough to ride my bike all the way up the giant hill? To love The Cabin was something that I had grown up knowing how to do. Adventuring was my bread and butter. As the summers went by, however, I realized that no matter what I did, I would always have much deeper love for the memories I made at The Cabin. Upon waking up every morning, the first task for my sisters, cousins, and I was to get dressed as fast as we could and race each other outside to the rope swing.
