1. Introduction
Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is a special type of protocol also known as routing protocol and the main purpose of the protocol. This protocol is to provide communication between different routers so they can exchange information or how to find the best path to a given destination. There is Routing Information Protocol version 1 (RIPv1) and Routing Information Protocol version 2 (RIPv2). RIPv1 uses classful and it sends routing updates as broadcast messages and does not support VLSM.
Meanwhile, RIPv2 is created to overcome the RIPv1 problems which is uses classless and it can send multicast messages and also supports VLSM. It have many features between these two routing protocol. Other protocol is Enhanced Interior Gateway …show more content…
Problem Statement
For this project, the problem is to manage a network at Felda Prodata Company by using Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)

I. Creating network topology at Felda Prodata Company
Managing and configured a network topology in small company which have 6 users or computers with routers.

II. Uses RIP and EIGRP
Choosing the best routing protocol in order to increase the network performance or send the information without any problems.

3. Objectives
Every project have its own objectives that have to be achieve. Below is the objectives for this project :

I. To find the routes for the packet
Know the available routes for the network if the route or path is unavailable.

II. Update, request and respond
The data or information will able to update, request and respond if there have any changes and give the best path.
4. Scopes
I. Configured on same network
RIP and EIGRP will be configured in a same network to merge it together to get the best path. The RIPv2 has to send subnet mask with periodic updates and it supports authentication can protects itself against intruders in the network.

II. Performing neighbor …show more content…
First of all, I have a model with EIGRP Network Design, CISCO packet tracer simulation using the observed effects of using EIGRP alone for real time applications. Secondly, in the same network scenario, implementation of the EIGRP and RIP network simulation model to observe the effect of a single RIP for real time applications. I compare and evaluate the performance of EIGRP and RIP protocols based on quantitative metrics such as convergence time, packet delay variation, end-to-end delay, packet loss and throughput. Packet tracer is used as a simulator for evaluating the comparative performance analysis of routing
