I would like to become a doctor and that career takes over ten years of college to accomplish. So if I still dream of becoming a doctor when I graduate high school, college is the perfect place for me.     College is taken for a place where wild parties are held and a place where students just have fun, but in reality college is much more than that. Ching, the Chair Learning Director at Sacramento State, says in his Letter to Future College Students that college professors expect students to hold themselves to high standards. So, to me, college can be a place to have some fun, but it is a place to ultimately work hard so that you may accomplish a degree to your future career.College is important to me for various reasons.   For example, in the article Getting Ready for College Early, by the U.S. Department of Education, statistics state that “By going to college students earn more money." Lastly, through college I can accomplish my dream of becoming a doctor. To become a doctor it takes over ten years of college. I am willing to go put in the time and perseverance to achieve my long term goal of helping people as a doctor.     Many long to go to college, but are convinced it is too expensive. However they fail to consider the fact that you can get scholarships that pay a portion or even all of you college tuition. Also, if you get a partial scholarship you can get a student loan to pay the rest of tuition that students can pay off as time goes on. While it is true that people can be successful without college, like Bill Gates the inventor of Microsoft. Yet this is a very rare, extremely hard, based morally on luck, and takes extraordinary talents to succeed without becoming a college graduate.In the future, I plan to graduate high school with at the least a 4.0 grade point average. I will get a full ride academic scholarship to Harvard, my dream college. After graduating college ready to become a medical practitioner.
