Robert Doisneau was a French photographer who captured daily life in Paris. He was born in Paris on April 14, 1912 and lived there until 1994. He went to an arts and crafts school at age 13 and graduated school in 1929. Most of his pictures were taken in the 1930s. For his many famous street pictures, he is considered one of the pioneers of street photography. When he first started photography at age 16, he was so shy that he was too afraid to ask children and adults to take their picture. His career was put to a temporary stop due to World War II. In the war, he was drafted as a soldier and photographer for the French resistance. Soon after, he took his most famous picture of a couple kissing by the town hall. It was later put in Life magazine
