The Life of Robert Frost

Thesis: Robert Frost had many different influences in his life that helped growth within his poetry.

Intro

Robert Frost was born in San Francisco, and lived there until he was eleven, at which time, his father, a journalist, died of tuberculosis. Frost moved in with his mother and sister in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Frost began writing poems when he was in high school. He was also valedictorian along with his future wife, Elinor Miriam White. Frost began at Dartmouth College, but didn't even stay a semester, as jobs such as teaching and factory-hand called him out. It was in 1894 when he sold his first poem "My Butterfly: An Elegy," the same year in which he tried to persuade Elinor to marry him. When she said no, wanting to finish college, Frost headed towards Virginia's Dismal Swamp, returning a few years later, no harm done. It was then that he married Elinor. The Drama

Frost began writing darker volumes when a series of horrible family tragedies befell the family. His oldest daughter died a slow death from a fever contracted after giving birth to a child. His wife Elinor died of a random heart attack, his daughter Irma was institutionalized along with his sister Jeanie. Then when things started looking okay, his son Carol committed suicide. This no doubt paved the way for Frost's darkest works that would rank at the top of the list.

Frost returned to England and received honorary awards. Then he went to Russia and attempted to speak with one of Russia's superpowers. Frost then returned to Boston to give a final reading before he administered himself to a hospital the following day for an operation. Frost suffered a severe heart attack while convulsing, and then he was burdened with a series of embolisms, which caused his death in January of
