“Rocky Mount High School”
Rocky Mount High School was established in 1953 for grades 9 -12.
The school system recently moved RMHS to a new location and built a facility that opened in 2012. Due to the original location being near the center of town, RMHS has had issues with a lot of crime surrounding the area giving it a bad reputation. Rocky Mount High School is a good school because the teachers are extremely dedicated to the students, it is also the only school in the system that has the IB program, along with AP programs and we have also have an outstanding Athletic program. Teachers are very dedicated to the students and helping them pass their grade. To help them pass, most teachers tend to have before and after school tutoring …show more content…
RMHS is the only school in the system that provides the IB program along with the AP program. Other schools just have the AP programs. The IB program involves college readiness classes to prepare students for what professors will expect in college. The classes are relatively harder than regular placement classes. Which involves harder assignments, stricter guidelines, subjects. People tend to think that the IB program excludes people because they are not smart enough. People that take honors classes have the chance to sign up for IB before they enter the school. They take Pre-IB courses since IB does not actually start until Jr/Sr year. The courses are higher then most basic classes causing the student to have more work to do and more expectations set around themselves. People always think that the reason people are in Ib is because they are like really, really smart and they have different capabilities than some of the other students. RMHS is the only school in the system that provides the IB program, which causes many people from different schools to transfer so that they can be in these courses. Since it gives college credits and always looks good on college applications no matter where you are applying

I am 17 years old and born in Maryland on December 22, 1995. I have attended Northern Nash High School for the past four years. My goal in life is to go into the Air Force or the Army. I would like to go in as a Military Police (MP). At a young age, I was inspired to working with law enforcement. What inspired me was my mother working with the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), aunt working in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), uncle working with the Department of Defense, and my grandfather being a Military Police. The topic I decided to do was “The History of the Air Force.” This was an important topic to me because I have always wanted to go into the Air Force. The Air Force has always been very interesting to me. I am just so excited in the way the Air Force protects our country. When I started doing my investing on the Air Force, is when I began learning how the Air Force really operated. When doing my research paper on the air force, I used the websites of www.airforcee.com ,www.airforcehistory.com and www.military.com. My paper will be a connection to enrich young minds on the things they would like to know about the Air Force. Someone who wants to enlist in the Air Force could learn the ins and outs of the Air Force. The Capstone Project experience...

The Code of Student Conduct is revised annually to align with state and federal laws and to address other issues critical to providing a safe and quality educational environment. Included in the Code of Conduct are expectations for behavior on school buses that you should be aware of even if your child does not ride a bus to or from school since these expectations apply for field trips, athletic contest trips and other school approved activities. To ensure consistency with student understanding of school division expectations, the Code of Student Conduct is reviewed at the beginning of each school year. In addition, I urge each parent to read and review this material with your child to ensure that you understand our expectations prior to any potential issues. Design Abstracts

...lost the identity unique to the context? What should be the interior design educator’s attitude toward teaching design and culture in the current age? We encounter dilemmas in global design, the results of which are sometimes almost identical regardless of unique settings because of our tendency to grasp design as a whole with respect to particular style or trend without fully apprehending the core and the deviation. Perceiving the entire design project as a mere symbolic expression also hinders our true understanding of design and culture. In this article, I attempt to answer fundamental questions regarding the complex, innate relationship between design and culture and suggest restructuring a conceptual framework applicable to related research and education that effectively reveals the multi faceted characteristics of design and culture in the present age. From the perspective of morphology, current individual design practice can be redefined as one entity comprising two coexisting components: One is a set of particular principles that construe a certain design pattern or type of design practice, and the other is another set of morphed elements embedded in design that reflects the context. The conceptual framework on which this article is based derives from George Kubler’s...

X Games

...ESPN X Games: Commercialized Extreme Sports for the Masses SMGT 798 Allison Renard A Paper Presented to the faculty of Lasell College in Partial Fulfillment of the requirement of the Degree Master of Science in Management. ABSTRACT For years, extreme sports had little to nothing in common with each other except for high risk, and an appeal to women and men from the ages of 12 to 34. Entertainment Sports Programming Network (ESPN), realizing this age group was a prime viewing audience, brought together several extreme sports and created yet another commercialized sporting spectacle. Since 1995, this television network has produced the Summer X Games. After these summer productions proved to be successful television and live spectator events, ESPN expanded into the winter extreme sports. The Winter X Games have been produced since 1997. This paper, which commences with the rise of extreme sports, is an historical and sociological analysis of the creation and growth of the ESPN X Games. While these commercialized adventure and extreme sporting events have had some obvious growing pains, both the Summer and Winter X Games have grown into events, which annually attract thousands of spectators and viewers while offering fame and a few dollars to their participants. INTRODUCTION One need only take a quick glance at the daily news to discover that society in general is still in a state of constant change (Leonard, 1993). In the United States, this is especially true...

Tunog Na Nagmumula Sa Isang Bagay Na Pinipihit

...Monopolistic Competition and Oligopoly 13 Monopolistic Competition W e have now examined two “pure” market structures. At one extreme is perfect competition, a market structure in which many firms, each small relative to the size of the market, produce undifferentiated products and have no market power at all. Each competitive firm takes price as given and faces a perfectly elastic demand for its product. At the other extreme is pure monopoly, a market structure in which only one firm is the industry. The monopoly holds the power to set price and is protected against competition by barriers to entry. Its market power would be complete if it did not face the discipline of the market demand curve. Even a monopoly, however, must produce a product that people want and are willing to pay for. Most industries in the United States fall somewhere between these two extremes. In this chapter, we focus on two types of industries in which firms exercise some market power but at the same time face competition. One type, monopolistic competition, differs from perfect competition only in that firms can differentiate their products. Entry to a monopolistically competitive industry is easy, and each industry is made up of many firms. The other type, oligopoly, is a broad category that covers many kinds of firm behavior and industry structure. An oligopoly is an industry comprising a small number of competitors; each firm in an oligopoly is large enough to have some control over market price...

Cordillera Administrative Region

...CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION I. Brief History Many theories have been postulated to account for the origin of the people inhabiting the mountain regions of the Philippines. The Land Bridge Theory claims that the Philippines was part of the Southern Asia Mainland and the Northern Luzon maintain tribes that came through these bridges during the last glacial period between 1200 and 1500 B.C. Contradictory to these assumptions is the Wave Migration Theory, which occurred thousands of years after the disappearance of the land bridges in 3,000-4,000 B.C. The theory states that groups of migrants came by boat from the neighboring lands during the Neolithic period. The Neolithic culture, which they brought with them, is still evident in the rice terraces, cloth weaving and the use of iron implements. Scholars differ in their contentions of the mountain people’s ancestors, however, a prominent number supports the contention that the ancestors of the mountain people came from the South East Asia Mainland. In the process of settling down, the early inhabitants became geographically isolated from one another. The long period of isolation and adaptation to the environment gave rise to variations of culture. When the Spaniards came to the Philippines, they were able to set foot in the Cordilleras as early as 1608 but with minimal influence. They were able to establish commandancias in Benguet, Ifugao and Kalinga-Apayao but their stay did not last long enough to pacify...
