Explaining& providing reasons for the amounts of energies: (by Aydar)
1. At the Start, the roller coaster does not have much potential energy (even if it was calculated that it has none mathematically, scientifically the gravitational force from the center of the Earth is still acting on it, meaning it still has potential energy). Because it is at the starting point (0m), it does not have any Kinetic Energy- RC hasn’t yet moved and because of that, it did not waste any energy, meaning there is no ‘wasted energy’.
2. At Top of the Hill, the roller coaster has potential energy, gained from its movement upwards into the hill, therefore this amount people consider as max because afterwards, the roller coaster would use this gained energy to move …show more content…
At the Bottom of the Hill, the roller coaster has severe minimum of the potential energy, because of its height. Consequently, most of this energy did not disappear but transformed into kinetic energy and wasted energy. It transformed into Kinetic Energy due to movement and speed of the roller coaster and transformed into Wasted Energy (49,200J) due to Friction and Air Resistance forces acting on it, when it was going down.
4. At the Top of the 1st loop, Kinetic Energy transformed into Potential energy, due to the change in height and speed of the roller coaster, as now roller coaster gained height, but with that, the speed decreased. Moreover, more energy was wasted due to forces acting on …show more content…
At the Finish, Roller Coaster wasted some GPE due to Finish point being lower than the point at the Top of the last Hill. However, this time, it did not gain any Kinetic Energy, but rather wasted it again, because of the unbalanced forces acting on it.
Conclusion: At the start of the Ride (top of the 1st Hill), amount of energy was bigger compared to the finish, because during the ride, Roller Coaster wasted a lot of energy to Light/Heat/Sound Energies, due to Friction and Air Resistance Forces acting on it.

Group’s next task was to recreate their design into real life track and use marble as a roller coaster. During recreation, group redesigned the track to suit marble, this was because the track was designed for an 800kg roller coaster containing people, while marble was less than 1kg in mass. So, because it was so light, it did not get any speed, consequently did not have enough energy to move through the designed track.
