When I first watched the film “Chinatown,” directed by Roman Polanski, I told myself, “As much as I enjoyed the film noir unit, it's nice to finally get a break from film noir movies.” However, the more that I thought about the film after I had watched it, the more I began to realize it was actually a film noir all along. Some of my friends may argue that this movie is nothing like a film noir, but if you look closely at the films many elements, you'll come to find that it doesn't stray far from what I'd like to call the “film noir family.”
