Romeo And Juliet Impulsive Quotes

...Romeo and Juliet Everybody makes bad decisions somewhere in their life, even if some people end up making ones worse a lot earlier in their life. Therefore, Juliet was the most responsible for her and Romeo’s death because she was impatient, impulsive and immature. To begin, Juliet’s impatience had only started to show after she happened to meet Romeo at the party being thrown at her house. One of the biggest acts of impatience in both her and Romeo is how badly they both want to get married. This is mostly shown during the famous balcony scene where Juliet says, “Th’ exchange of thy love’s faithful vow for mine.” (2.2.134) Both Romeo and Juliet only spoke once before this, meaning that they have known each other for less than an hour and knew barely anything about the other. For Juliet to have already felt the need to propose to Romeo is incredibly impatient and foolish thinking. Therefore, Juliet’s impatience was one of the most important reasons to...

How Did Romeo And Juliet Make Decisions

...Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet are very iconic for having a tragic end, when in fact there decisions are what ultimately killed them. In Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare shows human insight by the decisions characters made, and the speed in which those decisions were made, despite obvious foreshadowing the characters were aware of. The Characters were too young to make decisions like these, and they acted on impulse rather than what was a good or right. Shakespeare shows how humans, not only of a young age, move quickly and make decisions impulsively, and how this may cause problems. Shakespeare shows how when moving through life quickly, problems may arise that people may not be ready to deal with. Shakespeare shows this when Friar Lawrence tells him before he marries juliet that “They stumble that run fast” (2.104). When Friar says this it means those that move quickly will stumble and run into problems, Romeo was told this but he continued to ignore foreshadowing and act impulsively. A document in the National Geographic says that teens are “Moody, Impulsive, Maddening” (Steinberg 1). Romeo and Juilet

...In the prologue of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare calls Romeo and Juliet "star crossed lovers", introducing from the opening minutes of the play the possibility that their tragic end was unavoidable. Fate is seen by many of the characters in Romeo and Juliet as the reason for their downfall. In truth, however, it is the character flaws and actions of Romeo, Juliet, and Lord Capulet that cause their deaths. One character who contributes greatly to the tragic end of Romeo and Juliet is in fact Romeo himself. The reason why Romeo is involved in the death of Juliet and himself is because of his impulsive and rash decision making. Romeo reveals this flaw to Friar Lawrence in this quote:"I stand on sudden haste"[Act 2 scene 3 line 93.] Friar Lawrence recognizes this flaw and reminds him to "Go wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast." This impulse leads Romeo to rashly marry his latest love, the thirteen year old daughter of an enemy. Impulsiveness also leads Romeo to hold such anger at Tybalt, who killed his cousin, that he kills him. This starts a period of unlucky events that follow. Firstly, it forces Prince Escalus to banish Romeo from Verona, which ultimately leads to Romeo committing suicide. Juliet, along with Romeo, plays a role in their death. In a speech on her balcony, Juliet says, "Leap to these arms untalked of and unseen so lovers can see to do their amorous rites"[Act 3, Scene 2, Line 7-8.] In this quote, Juliet makes it quite clear to the reader that she is...

Ultimately, Friar Lawrence, the Nurse and Romeo and Juliet themselves can be blamed for their demise. Friar Lawrence's lack of responsibility and foresight contributed significantly to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Immaturity in Romeo and Juliet

...Immaturity: the Real Poison in Romeo and Juliet In William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is a tragic hero with the tragic flaw of immaturity. His immaturity is demonstrated countless times in this love story; he weeps because Rosaline does not return his love, and he hastily kills Tybalt without reflecting on the consequences. If Romeo had properly thought through some of the potential consequences prior to resorting to such extreme measures to see Juliet again, Romeo and Juliet most likely would not have met such a tragic ending. Lastly, the marriage of Romeo to Juliet was impulsive and again lacked forethought. They “fall in love” before even getting to know one another and they fail to think through their situation before getting married without their parents’ consent. There are many examples where Romeo lacks maturity. For example, when he is muddled because Rosaline does not return his affection. Romeo says, “O, teach me how I should forget to think!” (Shakespeare, 1. 1. 217). He is unable to take his mind off Rosaline. A more mature man could do so. Another example occurs when the hopeless romantic is ranting wistfully based only on his experience with Rosaline, “Is love a tender thing? It is too rough, Too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn” (Shakespeare, 1. 4. 25-26). Romeo’s negative view of love based on a single experience demonstrates his lack of maturity. Finally, Romeo’s breakdown over Rosaline greatly impacts the plot. “At this...

Who Was To Blame For Romeo And Juliet's Death

..."The blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet ultimately rests with Friar Lawrence." Do you agree? The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare ends with the death of both title characters, Romeo and Juliet. With many contributing factors to the cause of these deaths it could be said that Friar Lawrence is ultimately to blame. Although one could conclude that this statement is true as Friar Lawrence had a large amount of responsibility, it could also be concluded that this statement is false as there are many other factors in the play that resulted in the death of Romeo and Juliet. It is easy to blame the Friar as he is supposed to be a neutral character in this matter, but factors such as the feud and complexes in Romeo and Juliet’s personalities also carry a lot of...
