Family Ties where Love Never Dies
Young love has often been ridiculed and often seen as vain or “puppy love” but no story demonstrates how strong these feelings can be better than Romeo and Juliet. Mohandas Gandhi once said “Hatred always kills, love never dies”. This quote accurately demonstrates itself within the story of Romeo and Juliet, because between the hatred of the Montague’s and the Capulet’s Romeo’s and Juliet’s love dose not sever. This is best shown when Romeo finds out that Juliet is a Capulet but does not lose his love for her. This love has also been seen in this story when Romeo and Juliet get married. Lastly this love is demonstrated when Romeo and Juliet commit suicide.

When Romeo finds out that Juliet is a Capulet at the Capulet ball he becomes torn between his obligations to his family and his love for Juliet. “Is she a Capulet? O dear account! My life is my foe’s debt” (1.5.117). Romeo says this to the Nurse after she tells Romeo that Juliet is a Capulet. This quote shows that Romeo loves Juliet even though she is his family’s enemy. When Juliet says, “My only love sprung from my only hate too early seen unknown and known too late prodigious birth of love it is to me that I must love a loathed enemy” (1.5.137-140) it shows that she feels the same way about him. But not every Capulet at the ball was in love with Romeo, “This, by his voice, should be a Montague. Fetch me my rapier, boy. What dares the slave Come hither, cover'd with an antic face, To fleer and scorn at our solemnity? Now, by the stock and honour of my kin, To strike him dead, I hold it not a sin.” (1.5.53-58) Tybalt mutters to himself when he sees Romeo at the party. Thankfully Tybalt father sees him and asks Tybalt what was wrong. When Tybalt tells lord Capulet he responds by saying:
