INTRODUCTION:
This report is to document the death of Ildefonso Ronald Aceves at his residence located at 235 E. Holly Street #421.

INVESTIGATION:
On 04/02/18, at approximately 1216 hours, I responded to “Centennial Place” (Homeless housing) located at 235 E. Holly Street #421 regarding a subject not breathing (Later identified as Ildefonso Ronald Aceves DOB 10/8/56).
On 4/2/18, at approximately 1220 hours, Pasadena FD (PFD) Engine 31 and I arrived to the scene. On my arrival I found Aceves lying on the floor inside unit #421. Unit #421 is a small space approximately 32’x32’ and his body was lying face up on the floor next to his bed with his head pointing in a North West direction and his feet pointing in a South East direction. I spoke to Diane Lester who told me the following in summary: Lester is the property manager at Centennial Place. On 4/2/18, at approximately 1216 hours, Lester was doing room inspections for all tenants when she came across Aceves’ unit #421. Lester announced her presence and did not receive a response. As part of the inspection procedures, Lester used her master key, opened Aceves’ room, and saw him lying down on the floor. Lester smelled the decompose odor emitting from Aceves’ room and called 911. Lester did not know who Aceves was and only knew he was a tenant.
I spoke to David Cong who told me the following: Cong is the temporary assistant property manager at Centennial Place. Cong only found out of the incident after Lester told him and last time he saw Aceves was approximately 2 weeks …show more content…

Nelson, Karriem, and Hill did not know who Aceves was. Jochmann refused to speak to me and became upset when I knocked on his door. Moore last saw Aceves on Saturday 3/31/18 but did not see anything unusual with him. Sams last saw Aceves approximately one week ago but could not provide further information. Roberts smelled an odor of “Sewage” two days ago emitting from Aceves’ apartment but could not provide further information. Alderson last saw Aceves approximately one week ago but could not provide additional information.
I spoke to John Higbie who told me the following in summary: Higbie resides in unit #403 and was friends with Aceves. Higbie last saw Aceves three days ago and told me Aceves had “Breathing problems” and usually received medical care at Huntington Memorial Hospital. Higbie did not have any further information on
