I am reading Showboat, The Life of Kobe Bryant. It is by Ronald Lazenby, who is also the author of Michael Jordan: The Life.
It starts in Philadelphia on June 15, 2001 when Kobe won his second ring against the Alan Iverson led 76ers. Many Los Angeles Laker fans saw the win as the second ring in the Kobe dynasty which started in the 2000 season against the Larry Bird-led Indiana Pacers. It continued in the 2001 season against Philadelphia 76ers, and the 2002 season against the New Jersey Nets now known as (Brooklyn Nets). In the 2008 season they lost to the Boston Celtics in a rivalry rematch, then in the 2009 season they beat the Orlando Magic, and lastly, in the 2010 season they beat the Boston Celtics in Kobe’s last NBA…show more content… From birth and his time in Italy until his last game in staple center. Kobe was born on August 23,1978 his mom and dad decided on Kobe because of a Japanese meal that they had during Pam’s pregnancy which had Kobe stake in it. And they didn't want to dispense with father/son connections early so they gave him the Middle name of Bean thus Kobe Bean Bryant. With the DNA connections his mom and father had he had the DNA for being a star. His mom came from an athletic family and his father had the game to be in the NBA. His mom helped to mold the perception of the Bryant's. His mom was very nice and very sweet. But she didn't let athletic gifts get in the way of school work and responsibilities. His father when in Italy would take him to practices because in Italy there were pro teams with the youth teams for instance if there was a pro team in Bologna then their would be a youth team. Mixed with how the Italians do Basketball by ditching dribbling and focusing the fundamentals. There was a tale of how a 7 year old Kobe in one game got 16/22 points so he was moved him up to ten year olds and he even dominated there to.
