According to the Mayo Clinic Staff, there are no specific tests for rosacea; doctors rely on the history of your symptoms and a physical examination of your skin. Genetic counseling is an option, and is very helpful to understanding some limited information it might give. Not all the time does it answer the questions we need, but from the data that is given to us, it may potentially solve some questions regarding to the disease, or could help dermatologists prescribe an even better treatment for the patients with rosacea. According to Dr. Aldrich in the ModernMedicine Network, the further elucidation of the risk factors of rosacea can help clinicians better advise their patients in terms of lifestyle changes which may positively impact their disease course and improve symptoms. According to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, about fourteen million people in the United States have rosacea. ...Essential Oils for Rosacea Rosacea would be considered a skin condition which can cause a person to experience redness on their face. With some people, blood vessels may even be visible on the face and may have small, red, pus-filled bumps. These are sometimes misdiagnosed as acne or other skin problems. The main treatment for this condition is to control the signs and symptoms. The length of treatments depend on the severity of these. Some of the medications that are used would include ones that help to decrease the redness, oral antibiotics, and isotretinoin. Other treatments could include laser therapy, dermabrasion, intense light therapy, and electrosurgery. Alternative medicine is often used to help treat Rosacea. One of these is...

OLAÑO Subject Teacher Submitted by: CHARISH JOY B. BAYOT 10-EINSTEIN March 2016 HISTORY OF VICES IN TEXAS The history of vice in the U.S. state of Texas has been an important part of the state's past and has greatly influenced its development. Vice activities, such as gambling and prostitution, have historically been a significant facet of both the state's culture and its economy. Law enforcement organizations have traditionally defined vice as including prostitution, gambling, alcohol and narcotics, and pornography. These activities, though always controversial, represented major influences in the state with some enterprises at times holding legendary status. The legal status of the individual activities has fluctuated substantially over time. Additionally during some periods individual communities and public officials have been accepting of many of these activities, even when they were illegal, because of corruption, because the activities were seen as inevitable, or often because the activities were economically important. Early Texas and the Republic of Texas Before the arrival of the European settlers in Texas, the plant peyote (peyotl in Nahuatl) had become a popular hallucinogenic among tribes in the Rio Grande Valley as well as parts of West Texas and Chihuahua. Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple

...Preface A well-developed knowledge of clinical microbiology is critical for the practicing physician in any medical field. Bacteria, viruses, and protozoans have no respect for the distinction between ophthalmology, pediatrics, trauma surgery, or geriatric medicine. As a physician you will be faced daily with the concepts of microbial disease and antimicrobial therapy. Microbiology is one of the few courses where much of the "minutia" is regularly used by the practicing physician. This book attempts to facilitate the learning of microbiology by presenting the information in a clear and entertaining manner brimming with memory aids. Our approach has been to: 4) Create a conceptual, organized approach to the organisms studied so the student relies less on memory and more on logical pathophysiology. The text has been updated to include current information on rapidly developing topics, such as HIV and AIDS (vaccine efforts and all the new anti-HIV medications), Ebola virus, Hantavirus, E. coli outbreaks, Mad Cow Disease, and brand-new antimicrobial antibiotics. The mnemonics and cartoons in this book do not intend disrespect for any particular patient population or racial or ethnic group but are solely presented as memory devices to assist in the learning of a complex and important medical subject. We welcome suggestions for future editions. 1) Write in a conversational style for rapid assimilation. 2) Include numerous figures serving as "visual memory tools" and summary charts...
