From reading and watching Ross’s poem I would describe his ethos as a very passionate, expressive, and laidback person. He expresses appreciation for everything in life from the good to the bad. He has a new outlook of the sorrow and pain that we go through in life as he thinks we should be thankful for it and not perceive it as a negative thing. In Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude there is a recurring phrase throughout that is “thank you”. Ross expressed his thankfulness for everything from food to the soil on the earth. I think that it is important to recognize that Gay does not ignore the harsh reality of the world's problems. Instead of dwelling on them I would surmise that Gay would try to look at the positive and say everything happens
