My first take away from the RTI program was learning about the “The President's Commission on Excellence in Special Education”. I am not pursuing nor have I taken many classes talking about special education students, but I did have my own IEP in my school years. Learning about the three steps and later looking up some additional information I really learned a lot. While I felt the module itself did not explain a whole lot about the commission, other than the three main recommendation, it allowed me to seek out additional information. One thing I found out was that there were nine major findings with thirty-three additional, individual task force recommendations when this was created and researched in the early 2000s. The three suggestions that module one talked about in reference to the commission's were things I had already felt were areas of importance. Module two, while interesting, did not strike me as something new or really thought provoking. However, having RTI’s core goals established in clear writing on the screen, while the narration went into a more in depth view of them was very helpful in understand what the RTI certificate really signifies I would be able to do/understand. Of course, not to say that module two’s in depth look into problem solving was not helpful, but I believe it would have been more effective to have it after the introduction into RTI, as even module three references module two as a
