Have you ever lived your life by rules and regulations? Never going out of bounds and taking an alternative route? Well that’s called a risk. When I first enrolled in college I always was the “alternative route” kind of student and never tried being that “rules are not to be broken” kind of guy. That brings me here today in this course, Introduction to Business, which in fact is also an online class. That being a challenge alone for me gives me an easy decision on which rule I bring you. Rule number 6, “Remember that time is gold” is a no brainier decision that will push me to finish this next 4 weeks strong! Ever since I can remember I had always had trouble with concentrating and getting tasks done early. It all started when I was in 7th grade with this challenge. I remember my mother taking me to the doctor and always complaining that I never focus and I am to hyper. Well, I guess this is normal these days for most children and they usually grow out of it. It’s what the doctors call ADHD. Ever since then, I have been taking medication for the treatment of ADHD and here I am today, 22 years old and still on it. Guess the whole growing out of it still hasn't happened. This rule is also an obvious business stand point rule in that time is money and every minute or hour that goes by is “gold” lost. This is huge motivation in the fact that almost all business men and women are in business to get business. Remembering this simple rule is what keeps business’s alive. It stays true for school too. Waiting to the last minute constantly puts a toll on us. The stress it causes alone is the sole reason I choose this over the others. On top of work, which is often 12 plus hours daily, and being with the family can be a huge impact of personal life. There are 10080 minutes in a week or 168 hours in 7 days. Have you ever thought of it this way? Time it

The seating on airplanes are so close together that you wouldn’t want to be able to smell the vapor from someone smoking an electronic cigarette even though it is barely noticeable. This proposed regulation is banning electronic cigarettes from commercial and international aircraft flights. I guess it would affect me and the company I work for since there are hundreds of people in our company that have to fly for business. The discomfort of having to smell an unusual odor even if it was a flavor odor from someone sitting so close to during a 2 -6 hour flight would not be enjoyable. 2.  The proposal is intended to change any existing smoking regulations for airlines to ban the use of electronic cigarettes on any passenger flights both domestic and international. Will this proposed regulation affect you or the business in which you are working? If so, how? DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES (Food and Drug Administration) The reason I chose this agency and this particular regulation is because of my concern with the number of food borne illnesses. I’m a single mom of two and I want to make sure that my family isn’t exposed to food borne illnesses. Also, being in the Military and deploying it’s crucial that the FDA step in to make sure that food that’s supplied for us to eat while deployed is within standards. On one of my deployment we were hit with a case of salmonella poisoning that shut down a good portion of the base because of sickness from consumption. We were later told that the contaminated items were on our salad bar. When in a deployed location in a foreign country the last thing you need is for your troops to be anything but ready for combat, so situations like these have to be maintained. 2) Describe the proposal/change The first rule proposed would require makers of food to be sold in the United States, whether produced at a foreign- or domestic-based facility, to develop a formal plan for preventing their food products from causing foodborne illness.
