Introduction
In this assignment I am to gather information on two contrasting businesses and to understand how these businesses are organised to achieve their purpose.
A private business is business that is owned by an individual or multiple individuals and their main objective is to make a profit.
A public business is owned by the government.
A voluntary business can also be owned by a group of individuals and there main purpose is to raise awareness and not make a profit.
The two businesses that I have chosen are private and voluntary businesses.
Private
JD Sports was established in 1981 with a single store in Bury, North West of England. JD Sports Fashion Plc is the leading retailer and distributor of branded sportswear and fashion wear. The company was founded by John Wardle and David Makin.
Voluntary
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home was established in 1860. They have 153 years of experience and is one of the UK's most famous and longest-serving charities and are proud to be London’s leading animal rehoming centre.
