On Friday, 12/29/2017, at approximately 0933 hours, S1 Jose Solano was arrested for felony possession of a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm in a vehicle. This occurred following a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Cypress Court and Schwerin Street, Daly City. S1 Solano was booked into the San Mateo County. INVESTIGATION:

On Friday, 12/29/2017, at approximately 0933 hours, I was in full police uniform, driving a marked Daly City Patrol vehicle, north on Schwerin Street, south of Cypress Lane. At that time I observed a white, 2017, Chevrolet, Malibu bearing California license number 8AWN880 (VEH#1), driving west on Cypress Lane. I applied the breaks to my patrol vehicle and stopped to avoid a collision. SOLANO looked over to me and then applied his breaks also stopping his vehicle. I then made eye contact with his and began giving him hand directions to pull in front of me. SOLANO in turn began giving me hand signals directing me to pull ahead of him. I activated my patrol vehicle's emergency lighting equipment, which included a forward facing, steady burning read lamp. I exited my patrol vehicle and ordered SOLANO to pull his vehicle to the side of the road and then positioned my patrol vehicle behind him.

As I approached the VEH#1, I observed all of the windows rolled down and could smell odor, based on my training and experience I recognized to be burned marijuana, emanating from the inside of the vehicle. Also based on my training and experience I know drivers will often roll all of the windows of a vehicle down in order to flush the interior air of the vehicle in oder to dilute the oder of alcoholic beverages and burned
