Finding Nemo and the Lion King The Lion King and Finding Nemo are two of the most popular Disney and Pixar animated family movies. The stories have many similarities and differences. The Lion King is a story about a lion cub named Simba whose over-protective father is killed early on in the movie and the adventures the cub has growing up away from his pride and finally coming back home. Nemo is about a young clown fish named Nemo who has an over-protective father, and how they are separated early on in the movie. The rest of the movie is about the adventures they have trying to get back together. The stories Lion King and Finding Nemo have many similarities. Both movies are animated adventures about wild animals who have over-protective fathers. The stories have tragedies early on where the main characters lose one of their parents in a violent natural way. Both parents lost their lives while trying to save their child (although Nemo was actually still an egg). Even Marlin Nemo’s father was also putting his life on the line when he went a long way to get to his son he and Dory went through sharks, they had to get on a current with turtles, they had to cross a group of jelly fish, they were also encountered by an anglerfish. And had to talk to a wale to finally get them to Sydney then when they got to the Sydney harbor, a pelican had to convince them to get in its mouth so they won’t be eaten by the seagulls and also to take them to his nemo. And then Nemo was playing dead when his father got to him so he wouldn’t be taken by Darla the antagonist in this movie. The plots were similar in that Simba and Nemo both disobeyed their fathers and this was the cause of the two characters being separated from their groups. The main characters have friends from different species who help them during their adventures. The endings of both stories are happy where the main characters are reunited with their groups. The Lion King and Finding Nemo have many differences in the stories. The Lion King took place in Africa on the savannah, but Nemo took place in the ocean and Sidney Australia. The Lion King was about a lion cub, Simba, whose father (Mufasa) was the king of his pride, but Finding Nemo was about a clownfish, Nemo, whose father (Marlon) was an ordinary member of a school of fish. The plot of The Lion King is about Mufasa dying because Simba disobeyed him, and so Simba left his pride out of self-hate and wanted to die, but a meerkat (Timon) and warthog (Pumba) rescued him and brought him back to life. In the story Nemo, Nemo disobeyed his father and got caught in a fishing net where he ended up in an aquarium in a dentist’s office in Australia. His father, Marlon, never stopped searching for him and became good friends with a blue Tang (Dorry). In the lion king Simba’s uncle Scar and the hyenas were the antagonist, but in Nemo human beings were the antagonists. So in the Lion King Scar died and the hyenas disappeared, but in Nemo the human beings did not die or flee they only screamed.
In The Lion King, Simba is a lion cub that and has two friends from different species- Timon is a meerkat, and Pumba is a warthog. In Finding Nemo, Nemo is a clownfish and makes many friends: Dory, Bubbles, Gill, Deb and her imaginary sister Flo, Jacques, Gurgle, and Peach. Sadly, in the Lion King Simba lost his father when his father was saving him. On the other hand side, Nemo lost his mother before he was born, when she was trying to save herself and her eggs from a barracuda. , Simba from The Lion King and Nemo from The Finding Nemo have same characteristics which are curiosity and adventurous. In The Lion king, Simba is curious about new things and always ready for adventure, because of that he always gets in danger. Besides that, Simba is curious about the Elephant Graveyard and travels to there after being manipulated by his uncle Scar, he does not know it is a trick by Scar to kill him. However, Mufasa came and saved him at the end when he was in danger. In addition, Nemo from The Finding Nemo is curious and ready to adventure with his 3 friends. He swims to the very edge of the reef with his 3 friends and dare each other to touch the boat, at the end he was caught by a diver. These incidents have shown that both of the characters from these 2 films are curious and always ready for adventure. Also both characters are heroic when nemo helped a group of fish that were caught in a net but told them to just keep swimming down. Simba also saves his group from his evil uncle scar who turned the lions into slaves. At the end Nemo his father found him so he would be reunited with his group. In the Lion King Nala finds him and reunites him with pride. In conclusion, the Lion King and Finding Nemo are very highly respected movies by grownups, children, and teens. Both movies tell us to always obey our parents.
