Safe Space Shield College Students

According to Andrew J. Rotherham, safe spaces are doing no good to college students in the world. In his U.S News &World Report article- Safe Spaces Shield College Students From Real-World Challenges- Rotherham claims that instead of challenging themselves with seeing a different view point, students are running to a fairy tale bubble of comfort. The author feels that in addition to the safe spaces colleges have changed "where students can gravitate toward courses the reinforce rather than challenge their worldview."
"Elsewhere on campus, there is debate about whether words are violence-and not hate speech or threats, nor the kind of speech already exempt from First Amendment protection, but rather if simply exposing students to ideas they find offensive, or worse, constitutes violence." Rotherham continues stating that Middlebury students are encouraged by this kind of attitude to assault a professor and disrupt a planned talk. (Transition to Reaction) Rotherham says something that shocks me and finally causes a reaction: "The instinct to protect students is borne of good intentions."
(Reaction) The line reminded me of the saying the road to hell is paved with good intentions. It's one of my favorite aphorisms as …show more content…
"A majority of students do not actively endorse safe spaces on campuses, according to a recently released study." The leading statement of the piece leaves me feeling a bit mislead as I read it. Willis makes the result sound final; Students do not want safe spaces at all. However, this is simply not the case- Willis felt to better accent her point to add those who didn’t want the space with those didn't care one way or the other. Only thirty-seven percent thought the spaces were unnecessary. One percent off of those who thought the spaces were absolutely needed. This left twenty-five percent to be

Vaccines

...Vaccines: The Right Choice? Alex Hauke Walmart Pharmacy Abstract This research paper takes an in depth look at the question of whether vaccines are the right choice when it comes to your health and staying healthy. Opposing views say that vaccines are unsafe and pose more risks than benefits, this paper explores those claims using rebuttable sources and helps readers to better understand vaccines and what their benefits and risks are. Most believe that the benefits of vaccines far outweigh the risks but some still have doubts and some very rare cases of vaccines causing disease have added to this doubt. This paper explores the world of vaccines in an effort to educate the less knowledgeable. Research Findings Introduction The history of vaccines begins with the long history of infectious disease in humans, and usually it is reported that the origin goes back as far as Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, 400 B.C. He described diphtheria, mumps, and epidemic jaundice among other conditions (Hussein, et al. 2015). The earliest methods of immunization and protection against smallpox dates back to about 1000 A.D., and are attributed to the Chinese. It has been said that the son of a Chinese statesmen was inoculated against smallpox by blowing powdered smallpox sores into his nostrils. Another way of inoculation was the removal of fluid from the sores of an infected person and then rubbing it into a cut or scratch of a healthy individual. It took almost six centuries...

High quality instruction will offer challenging curriculum based on rigor, relevance and adequate resources for all students. Expectations for student behavior are high in every school. The Code of Student Conduct is revised annually to align with state and federal laws and to address other issues critical to providing a safe and quality educational environment. Included in the Code of Conduct are expectations for behavior on school buses that you should be aware of even if your child does not ride a bus to or from school since these expectations apply for field trips, athletic contest trips and other school approved activities. To ensure consistency with student understanding of school division expectations, the Code of Student Conduct is reviewed at the beginning of each school year. In addition, I urge each parent to read and review this material with your child to ensure that you understand our expectations prior to any potential issues. Being unaware of the rules of conduct and behavior is not a defense if your child actually violates...

A Study to Improve the Employee Training and Development Program of Jiangnan Group Limited

...1. Executive summary This report finds the employee training and development program in Jiangnan Group Limited is not functioning good enough to help achieve the company goals. The major areas of weakness require further investigation and remedial action by management are company too rely on manpower, traditional training programs can be too costly and often too time-consuming, continually increase manufacturing cost by China’s current Five-Year-Plan (2011-15) of minimum wage and the rising value of the RMB raise the production cost and made the goods more costly to ship. To resolve the problems the following recommendations are proposed: * Review existing T&D programs to ensure they address MCO Competency Gaps and Leadership Talent Pool needs. * Revise/upgrade existing T&D programs to improve competencies and/or add ‘new’ ones * Develop new T&D Programs to identify necessary or additional resources (outside vendors, partnering arrangement with other agencies, budget/resources needs and availability, etc.) * By using E-training system, Jiangnan Group Limited is able to train employees stationed remotely, without having to regard geographic or language barriers. * Establishing a new manufacturing facility in South Africa to benefit from the growth in South Africa and its surrounding countries. * Also save cost from establishing a new manufacturing facility in South Africa * Using robots to replace manpower * Adopt E-training for...
